    Default Hudson O'neal

I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts are about Hudson O'neal?

I have been impressed with him so far.

He really impressed me at the world last year. His age showed and that's why he ultimately ended up missing the show. We don't see many guys come from crates to supers and turn that many heads often that quick, let alone on the biggest stage of the year, and a track he hadn't driven on. Hes a super soft spoken kid, I think he'll be very good by the end of this year. He just needs seat time.

I don't know if anyone has noticed or not, that hauler he's been racing out of should look familiar to some.....777.

Just seen "Shelton Sidebites" with Hudson. Seems like a humble kid. Glad he doesnt have a chip on his shoulder about who his dad is.

He's going to be the real good. There will be many battles between him, Pierce, Sheppard, and Richards for years to come. The youth in the sport right now is impressive.

He is quite something for such a young age. Just like Bobby Pierce. Since I have seen all of Don's career, it took him a while to get to the top. A lot of struggling. His son is well on his way, pays to have great talent and a great mentor. Look forward to seeing him at Florence.

Coming from a non-Pierce fan, Bobby at 16 was plenty talented, and already running upfront. While it might be hard for you to believe, the younger Bobby Pierce was a notorious catfisher. He ran the bottom and was successful doing it. There were a few races with uke tire migration controversies involving the 32, including either a PDC or Illini, can't remember which.

No one doubts that Hudson has the talent. He's very good. However, don't delude yourself that the family he belongs to didn't enhance his driving and funding opportunities. If he was Hudson Johnson, or Hudson Barnett, or Hudson Godsey, he would be in a decent southern Indiana ride, but likely not in a well funded gig running Speedweeks. The name, and his father's sponsors have helped out. There's no shame in that either, and good for Hudson, he's making great use of the opportunity. But your assertion of O'Neal and Pierce's opportunities is off the mark.

dangerous as h3ll. all over the place, just like a young bobby pierce. not to beat a dead horse, but it begs the question of these kids behind the wheel of these monsters. I would expect anyone to be good in his ride, one of the best in the nation, my grandma could finish top 3 in a heat with it. dont get me wrong hudson will be a good one for sure.
