Smoky Mountain Speedway prepares for 2017 Season Opener!

Officials with Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee have released details concerning the 2017 season opening event scheduled for Friday, March 10th and Saturday, March 11th at the historic East Tennessee facility.

The season opening mega event will boast the largest payday of the season at Smoky Mountain with the 75-lap feature for super late models paying a whopping $15,000 to win. The event will be sanctioned by the Ray Cook promoted Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals series presented by Sunoco & Tennessee RV Supercenter!

Some outstanding drivers have already made their intentions known that they will be at Smoky Mountain Speedway for this event!! Details for the weekend are summarized below:

Thursday, March 9th

Pit gates will open at 5pm.
Open practice for all classes will be held from 6pm-9pm.

Pit Passes - $20
Tier Parking - FREE Admission
Main Grandstands will NOT be open.

Friday, March 10th

Pit gates will open at 2pm.
Grandstands and Tier Parking will open at 4pm.
Driver’s Meeting scheduled for 6:30pm.

Grandstand Admission
Adults - $15 / Kids (ages 6-11) - $5 / Kids (5 & under) FREE

Tier Parking Admission
Adults - $20 / Kids (ages 6-11) - $10 / Kids (5 & under) FREE

Pit Passes
Adults - $30 Kids (ages 11 & under) - $15

TWO-DAY PASSES WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ADULTS IN THE GRANDSTANDS & TIER PARKING.

2-day grandstand $40 - must be purchased on Friday 3/10
2-day tier parking $50 - must be purchased on Friday 3/10

Super Late Models – hot laps, time trial qualifying (2 laps), heat races (10 laps)

Sportsman Late Models – hot laps, time trial qualifying, heat races, & 25-lap feature paying $2,000 to win / $125 to start

Electronic Transponder Scoring will be used for Sportsman.

There will be a $50 entry fee, which will include your transponder rental.

Saturday, March 11th

The pit area will be cleared and secured at 1pm.

Pit gates will re-open at 2pm.
Grandstands and Tier Parking will open at 4pm.
Driver’s Meeting scheduled for 6pm.

Adults - $35 / Kids (ages 6-11)- $10 / Kids (5 & under) FREE

Also, just added to the program. If 40 or more super late models sign in for action, there will be a non-qualifier race for cars that have not transferred in to the feature event. The non-qualifier race will be 15-laps and will have an interesting twist. The 1st and 2nd place finishers in the non-qualifier event will have a choice to make. The winner can choose to take $1,000 for the win (and call it a night) OR start 23rd in the main event to go for the big money! The 2nd place finisher will also have a choice to take $750 for the finish or start 24th in the main event! All drivers attempting to start the non-qualifiers event will receive $100.

Street Stocks – hot laps, time trial qualifying, heat races, & 25-lap feature paying $2,000 to win / $125 to start.
