CARNESVILLE, GA – In what seems to be most unusual in today’s world of Motorsports, two sanctioning bodies have agreed to support and help each other. Fastrak/Ultimate Racing Founder and CEO Stan Lester, and American Motor Racing Association’s Angie Haught have announced an Alliance for 2017 between the two sanctioning bodies.

The Fastrak Pro Late Model Weekly Racing Series sanctions crate late model racing at several tracks in West Virginia and Southern Ohio, and AMRA sanctions super late model racing at the same tracks. With Lester announcing the formation of the touring Dave Poske’s Performance Parts Ultimate Mid-Ohio Valley Super Late Model series, the two sanctioning bodies have discussed ways to help each other.

“We will be working with AMRA in training their tech staff for the economical Chevrolet Performance 604 and 602 Circle Track Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications,” Lester said. “That will service our weekly sanctioned tracks and race teams in the area much better and more efficiently.”

Going on its 14th season, Fastrak has been the leader in affordable dirt late model racing as the first dirt late model series to use the 400 horsepower aluminum-head, steel-block 604 and the 350 horsepower steel-head, steel-block 602 Chevrolet Performance Circle Track Engines, which are durable, very low maintenance, racing engines that can be bought for a fraction of the cost of an aftermarket all-aluminum super late model engine.

“As we have for 14 years, we will continue to work towards making dirt late model racing affordable for everyone,” Lester said. “Proper and regular technical inspections are the key to keeping this type of racing affordable for competitors, and that is also passed on the track operators, and then to the race fans.”

According to AMRA officials, this alliance with the Fastrak Pro Late Model Weekly Racing Series and the Dave Poske’s Performance Parts Ultimate Mid-Ohio Valley Super Late Model Tour is something they have been searching for.

“For years, we have been trying to reach out to tracks and other sanctioning bodies in an effort to make us all stronger in the industry,” Haught said. “We’re excited that AMRA/Fastrak/Ultimate has found each other because we share the same goals. This is a great thing for everyone involved and we’re looking forward to growing this alliance in the years to come.”

The Dave Poske’s Performance Parts Ultimate MOV Tour will give the AMRA weekly racers an opportunity to compete in a series of higher paying special events with a separate point fund. According to Lester, Dave Poske’s Performance Parts Ultimate MOV is making an effort to make it easy for AMRA drivers to compete in the Touring events, and to also earn their ARMA Weekly Points at the same time.

“Ultimate will handle the touring duties of the super late models, and AMRA weekly teams will receive AMRA weekly points for those events,” Lester said. “Ultimate will also be collecting Temporary Memberships of $25 per race, or a one-time fee of $75 Ultimate Membership Fee for AMRA drivers.”

Lester said Ultimate is also making concessions in the rules for AMRA drivers, with an emphasis on tire rules, which traditionally is a major stumbling block for different series to work together. This is a barrier Lester says he is more than happy to plow through.

“I have heard tracks and teams say forever they wish we could figure out how to work together as sanctioning bodies,” Lester said. “AMRA/Fastrak/Ultimate are now doing it, so it is possible. The Dave Poske’s Performance Parts Ultimate MOV Tour will utilize the AMRA tire rule because it makes sense, and no one has to change a thing. We aren’t coming in and telling people, ‘well that’s not our tires, so go buy another type.’ Let’s use what’s already in place and let’s go race!”

The Dave Poske’s Performance Parts Ultimate MOV Tour will schedule ten to 12 races for 2017, with the minimum purse to be $3,000-to-win and $400-to-start. The first Dave Poske’s Performance Parts Ultimate MOV event is scheduled for Friday night, April 7 at Beckley Motorsports Park in Beckley, WV for a $4,000-to-win, $400-to-start race.

This will be a tri-sanctioned race with the two of the Dave Poske’s Performance Parts Ultimate MOV sister series. Points will also be awarded at the April 7 Beckley Motorsports Park race for the Ultimate Southeast Super Late Model Series and the Ultimate Battle of the Bluegrass Super Late Model Series.
