Keep going, SPECs are not equal to open comp, like 650 is not equal to 900. Either more spoiler or less weight, but heads up is a fool's errand. What's sad is OSAS 10-12 years ago was one of the first series to adopt the spec engine(remember the spec engine diaries in DLM Magazine), but now it's obvious they are no longer wanted except as field fillers. It's like somebody wrote the rules back then to give lesser funded teams the hope they could be competitive on a smaller budget, but secretly they were never supposed to win.

why would you want to run your spec engine as a spec engine? just claim it a steel block with aluminum head and get 50 lb weight break and do any thing you want to it, this has never made since to me.

Spec or crates are a cheaper way to go racing. That is their handicap. It's like poker, you anti up. The bigger the anti, the bigger the pot. If they wish to run with the open LM, let them. No weight breaks or spoiler advantage. They got their advantage, when they paid half price for a engine. I wonder if a Crate race, would let a open LM race if they added 150 lbs. Not that they would want to, but there are a few high paying crate shows.

You would think somebody would realize why Their car count is down from when the small engines got a spoiler. If the spec engine and spoiler is such an advantage don't waste money on these 40k open engines just buy 3 spec motors.

Guys, you have to figure this is the sanctioning body that has rules where heat races can start single file, yet if there is a caution in same said heat, it can go to that ignorant a$$ Deleware, Dixie, Moronaphile restart. Sometimes, somehings just don't make sense.

the engine rules for any sanctioned race should read 1) if your engine is 430 CI or less and cost less than $30000 you are not allowed to compete invoice on engine required at tech !! end of story, racing can no longer be a hobby because of a few egomaniacs that can out spend most of us and cant stand getting outrun by less $ and more talent !!!
