Gaerte Engines of Rodchester, Indiana aquired by Rodchester business Topp Performance
Long time engine builder Gaerte Engines of Rodchester, Indiana acquired by fellow Rodchester Race Parts business Topp Performance.
Trying to make a list of Late Model drivers that have all raced with Gaerte Engines at one time or another over the years?

I've seen their name and logo on a late model in the past couple of years, I just can't remember whose it was.

Tyler Redd!ck was the last person I seen run Gaerte engines. When I was kid the guys we helped ran Joes stuff. They were a lot more into open wheels.
I got a pic of it somewhere. It says "build'em right wind'em tight." It was a hand painted logo, which is a thing of the past.

Where in the hell is Rodcbester? Being from Indiana you would assume a fellow hoosier would know the proper spelling. You even you used their own letter and still got it wrong.

I remember back in the late 80's going to the World 100 and it seems like everyone there had a Rayburn with a 430 Gaerte!

Hate to hear they sold out, but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. No thrilled the new owners already want to change the name, sounds like they just wanted the equipment...

Sounds like Joe Gaerte and his sister wanted out. So who will now be the guy behind development ? As far as I no, Earl's open wheel motors is what put him on the map. He did build SLM motors and they also got the job done. His motors were always competitive at the Big E, Eldora. Anyone know what Joe Gaerte's age is ? I gotta believe he is late 50's early 60's. I could understand the family moving on.

According to that letter the family is going nowhere, just sold out and name is changing... Maybe just getting ready for retirement, but I gotta believe Gaerte has more name recognition than Topp. JMO

Kevin Claycomb used to run Gaerte engines.
