The beginning of new season means all drivers are starting out with a clean slate in point standings towards the $10,000 2017 Championship.

Defending Fastrak Pro Late Model Series SE Region Champion Cla Knight of North Augusta, SC will return to defend his title. Knight was also the 2016 Fastrak Pro Late Model Series Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Champion and is the holder of the 2016 East Coast Rumble Championship Belt. Knight will be joined by a star-studded field at Toccoa Raceway.

David Smith of Inman, SC, Chris Steele of York, SC, Matthew Nance of Rhonda, NC, Benji Hicks of Mt. Airy, NC, Jimmy Mac of Mooresville, NC, and Ron Parker of Belwood, NC were also top ten drivers during the 2016 Fastrak Pro Late Model Series SE Tour, and will be looking to get started off on the right foot to begin a new season on Saturday night, April 1 at Toccoa Raceway.

The Fastrak SE travelers will have some tough competition from David McCoy of Franklin, NC, a driver that is a Toccoa Raceway regular that picked up $10,000 in 2016 as the Fastrak Weekly Racing Series National Champion. McCoy will be looking to defend his home turf and pad his bank account with another $2,000.

“Fastrak is one of the few sanctions we have at Toccoa Raceway, and we’re looking forward to having a great field of cars for their season opener,” Toccoa Raceway Owner/Promoter Mike Davidson said. “We have reconfigured the track by putting down new clay, making the banking higher in some places, and taking out banking in other places. This has made for a lot more side-by-side racing. We’ve also brightened the track up with new LED lighting.”

Davidson also said in addition to McCoy, many other Toccoa Speedway regulars will be on hand for the Fastrak SE season opener on April 1 that include Adam Smith of Carnesville, GA, Frankie Beard of Hartwell, GA, and Ricky Smith of Blairsville, GA.

Toccoa Raceway is owned and promoted by Mike and Jackie Davidson, and is located at 6452 Big A Road, Toccoa, GA 30577. For more information, call 770-402-7234, or visit their web site at www.toccoaraceway.com. You can also follow them on Facebook at Toccoa Raceway, or on Twitter @toccoaracing1.
