Default 2017 Schedule Is Announced For Ultimate Battle Of The Bluegrass

CARNESVILLE, GA – ULTIMATE Battle of the Bluegrass Super Late Model Series officials have announced the 2017 Schedule of Events. The schedule for the second season of the ULTIMATE BoB Series features 11 races in five states. There will be one Tri-Sanctioned race, five Co-Sanctioned races and five races will award National points.

The 2017 ULTIMATE Battle of the Bluegrass season begins on April 1 with a $3,000-to-win $400-to-start race at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN. This will be the first of two visits in 2017 to the historic Hoosier State dirt track. The ULTIMATE BoB Tour returns to Brownstown Speedway on July 15 with a $3,000-to-win $400-to-start race.

The next stop is the $20,000-to-win $575-to-start Aarons King of the Commonwealth 60 at Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, VA on April 8 with an April 9 rain date. While the event is a non-BoB Regional points race, this race carries National points that ULTIMATE Battle of the Bluegrass drivers can use to replace a lower BoB event point total.

Virginia Motor Speedway will host not one, but two $20,000-to-win $575-to-start ULTIMATE National points paying events in 2017 that are the richest single-day races in Regional Super Late Model racing history. The $20,000-to-win $575-to-start USA 100 will be held on June 3 with a June 4 rain date.

Dublin Motor Speedway in Dublin, NC will host a $10,000-to-win National points race on April 28. Like the Virginia Motor Speedway race, this is a non-ULTIMATE BoB points race, but any National points earned at any National event may replace a driver’s lowest BoB event point total of lesser value than the National points earned. The National points come into play at ULTIMATE Super Late Model races paying $10,000-to-win or more.

Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN will host a National event that will be Co-Sanctioned with the ULTIMATE South East Region. This race on the fast 4/10-mile high-banked clay oval will pay $10,000-to-win, $500-to-start and will be the first of two races for the BoB Tour at “The Gap.” Volunteer Speedway will host a National $12,000-to-win $500-to-start race on August 17.

Beckley Motorsports Park in Beckley, WV will present a $4,000-to-win $400-to-start Tri-Sanctioned race with the ULTIMATE South East Region and the ULTIMATE Mid-Ohio Valley Region on June 2. This will be held the night before the $20,000-to-win $575-to-start USA 100 at Virginia Motor Speedway.

Crossville Speedway in Crossville, TN presents the ULTIMATE Battle of the Bluegrass Tour on August 18 with a $4,000-to-win $400-to-start race Co-Sanctioned with the ULTIMATE South East Region. This will be the night after the $12,000-to-win, $500-to-start race at Volunteer Speedway. The ULTIMATE BoB and the ULTIMATE SE will team up again on August 19 at Duck River Speedway in Wheel, TN for a $4,000-to-win, $400-to-start.

The 2017 season finale for the ULTIMATE BoB Tour will be a $4,000-to-win, $400-to-start race at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, OH on October 28 that will be Co-Sanctioned with the ULTIMATE MOV Region.

ULTIMATE BoB officials are still in communications with other track about hosting 2017 events that could be added to the schedule. Any tracks in Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois and Ohio interested in booking an ULTIMATE Battle of the Bluegrass race should contact Region Director D.J. Battle of the Bluegrass, and there are no races in Kentucky? That doesn't make much sense.

Actually, the whole schedule doesn't make much sense. Any projections who may follow this? I guess an Eastern TN guy, but the Brownstown throws it for a loop.

It does seem kind of strange.

Personally I'm super excited for the upcoming Great Lakes Tour of Champions to be held in New Mexico and Arizona.
