R.J. Conley Leads CMI Charge to Podium Sweep at Atomic Speedway; Pockets $2,000!

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) R.J. Conley, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, kicked off his 2017 campaign in triumphant fashion on Friday evening, March 24 at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio! R.J. swept the night's racing activities at the former K-C Raceway, as he set Fast Time during the qualifying session, won his heat race, and later led all 25 circuits of the weekly Super Late Model main event. At the conclusion of the feature distance, R.J. was ahead of Rod Conley, Delmas Conley, Nick Latham, and Eddie Carrier, Jr. to pocket the $2,000 windfall. Rod and Delmas both finished second in their respective heat races before giving Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) a podium sweep in the A-Main!

The #71r team of Rod Conley then ventured to the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday night, March 25 for the annual running of the 'Spring 50.' He qualified well and won his heat race in preliminary action to earn the pole position for the 50-lap feature event, which boasted a $5,000 payday. "Hot Rod" then unfortunately fought brake issues throughout the distance and eventually slid back to fourteenth in the final finishing order. Complete results from both venues can be accessed online at www.atomicspeedway.net and www.florencespeedway.com.

“It was an excellent way to start our 2017 racing season by picking up a win and all of us finishing in the top three,” exclaimed R.J. via telephone earlier this week. “We worked hard on our stuff during the off-season and I think that showed right off the bat. Hopefully the one-two-three finish gives us some momentum that will lead to us all having a great year!”

Those same three Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) drivers – Delmas, Rod, and R.J. Conley – are all slated to return to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio this Saturday, April 1 for another weekly program for the AMRA Late Models. Another $2,000 top prize will be up for grabs at the Chillicothe-area facility. Additional information concerning this race can be located by clicking on www.atomicspeedway.net.
