One time I was in the pits at TST, Red was standing right next to a friend of mine. He had no idea who he was, so I told him, and he asked him how he was, and Red just kinda looked at him, the guy next to him said "It's OK, he can't hear for $#IT" hahaha. Good to see him still getting it done.

At 83 he has no business being in a race car of any kind. Slow reflexes, and if he gets slammed into a wall he will probably be a dead man. One of the great guys. Nobody wants to see something like that happen.

That heat race win was done with sharp driving and a good car, he had folks all up his keyster and drove the 'ship' out of that car and the crowd loved it. Great stuff.

Heard Red say one time he would rather wear out instead of rust out.

well, if im 83 and leading a race and slam the wall and it kills me , then i cant think of a much better way to go , and as far as a danger to other drivers, there are some young drivers , to young some times in my opinion, that are way more dangerous to other drivers than ole red, JMO......

At 83, Farmer likely can drive better than about half of all the dirt track drivers in the country! I'm seeing more and more each year that shouldn't even be allowed to sit in a parked race car.
