Richmond, KY (April 4, 2017)- Richmond Raceway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are pleased to announce an additional practice date and have also added the Mini-Cup/Cyclone division to some dates in the already-released 2017 racing schedule.

Richmond Raceway will now have two opportunities for racers to get practice laps at the track prior to the season opening event on Saturday April 22. The newly-added practice date will be on Saturday April 15, which is scheduled to be followed by an already-scheduled practice date on Friday April 21. For both the open practice dates, gates will open at 4:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 6:00 p.m. and conclude at 10:00 p.m. At both practice dates, the general admission area will be open and will be free to those wanting to watch practice, while a pit pass will be $20.

The Mini-Cup/Cyclone division has been added back to the 2017 Richmond Raceway racing schedule on five separate occasions. The dates for the Mini-Cup/Cyclone division to be in competition at Richmond Raceway will be May 6, June 24, July 1, September 23, and September 30. In addition, Richmond Raceway would like to welcome Anthony Wiseman as its new track announcer. Mr. Wiseman has been a long-time competitor in the KDRA Super Stock division and will trade in his helmet and driving suit and handle the announcing duties on a weekly basis at the track.

Richmond Raceway is scheduled to open the 2017 racing season with its first official event of the year on Saturday April 22. The track’s Late Model division will race for $2,000 to win on that evening, along with a full racing program for Open Wheel Modifieds ($1,000 to win), KDRA Super Stocks ($750 to win), and Stock Four Cylinders ($500 to win).
