CARNESVILLE, GA – The five-race 2017 Introductory Pilot Season schedule for the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series North East Region shows they are all National events. The first race will be this Saturday night with the 60-lap $20,000-to-win, $575-to-start Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth at Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, VA.

ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series events that pay $10,000-to-win or higher are considered National events. These races were picked for the ULTIMATE NE Introductory Pilot Season because drivers can have an opportunity to race with the series and get to know the procedures and officials, and at the same time, race for some big money.

The formation of the ULTIMATE NE Region was announced too late in the off-season to develop a 2017 schedule strong enough to meet sponsorship requirements for a point fund, as most tracks had already set their schedule of events for the year. So with a five-race schedule for 2017, there will be no points awarded and no points fund paid. However, that’s going to change for 2018.

ULTIMATE NE Director Rose Compton has been hard at work establishing relationships with Pennsylvania dirt track operators, and the 2018 ULTIMATE NE schedule is beginning to take shape. Points will be awarded and a point fund will be paid in 2018 for the ULTIMATE NE Region with a full schedule planned.

“The National events the ULTIMATE NE teams compete in this year will take on a whole new meaning next season,” ULTIMATE Founder and CEO Stan Lester said. “Drivers that compete in a National event outside of their home area can use a finish in a National event to replace an event point total in their home regional season points of a lesser value.”

In addition to Saturday night’s Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth, Virginia Motor Speedway will host a second ULTIMATE National event that is the second of the richest single-day races in the country for Regional Super Late Model racing. Virginia Motor Speedway will present the 60-lap $20,000-to-win, $575-to-start USA 100 on June 3.

“Virginia Motor Speedway is one of the finest dirt track racing facilities in the country for both fans and competitors, and I couldn’t think of a better place to have the first ULTIMATE North East Region race,” Lester said. “Bill Sawyer and his staff go a great job of making everyone feel welcome. They give the race fan a great experience by providing them with comfortable seating, and a racing surface that always lends itself to multi-groove racing for both fans and competitors.”

There will be two other ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series National events between the two Virginia Motor Speedway races on the 2017 ULTIMATE NE Introductory Pilot Season schedule. Dublin Motor Speedway in Dublin, NC will present a $10,000-to-win race on April 28, and Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN will host a $10,000-to-win race on May 29. Volunteer Speedway will have a second ULTIMATE National race paying $12,000-to-win on August 17.

Tracks in Pennsylvania looking to book an ULTIMATE NE event for either 2017 and/or 2018 should contact Region Director Rose Compton at 724-433-0159, or by E-Mail at rose@fastrakracing.com.

On Saturday at Virginia Motor Speedway, the pit gate opens at 3 p.m., with ULTIMATE Pre-Race Registration and Technical/Safety Inspection from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Drivers need to bring their helmets and head and neck restraint systems to Tech along with their race car. The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., and Hot Laps are set for 6 p.m.
