Dennis Erb, Jr. Salvages Ninth Place Effort in Bad Boy 98; Gears Up for Hawkeye State

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team found themselves in the pit area at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas on April 7-8 for the annual running of the 'Bad Boy 98.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series biggie drew 45 entrants to the Razorback State for the two-day extravaganza, which boasted a whopping $20,000 winner's check. On Friday night, Dennis logged the fourteenth fastest time in Group A during qualifying before placing seventh in his loaded heat race.

After grabbing the third and final transfer spot through Saturday's B-Main, Dennis experienced rocker arm problems in doing so and was forced to unload his back-up car for the 98-lap headliner. The Carpentersville, Illinois star then rolled off from the tail of the talent-rich field and promptly blasted up inside of the top ten - eventually landing in the ninth finishing position. Dennis now finds himself seventh in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following the 'Bad Boy 98' weekend. Next up for Dennis will be a pair of shows in the Hawkeye State of Iowa over the April 14-15 weekend. The West division of the MARS Dirt Car Series and the Corn Belt Clash Series will co-sanction a $3,500 to win battle on Friday night at the sprawling Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa. The same two series will once again converge on Saturday evening at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, as the annual ‘Slocum 50’ boasts a lucrative $10,555 top prize.

Dennis will be piloting a Black Diamond Chassis out of veteran racer and sponsor Jay Johnson’s stable at both Davenport and Burlington, as his familiar #28 machines will sit idle until the big four-race Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series weekend in Ohio, Maryland, and Pennsylvania on April 20-23.
