Dennis Erb, Jr. Heads East with Lucas Oil Series After Seventh Place Slocum 50 Finish

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Carpentersville, Illinois standout Dennis Erb, Jr. jumped behind the wheel of a Jay Johnson-owned #28 Black Diamond Chassis on Saturday evening, April 15 at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa. The Corn Belt Clash Super Late Model Series presided over the annual 'Slocum 50' and a hefty $10,555 winner's check was on the line.

Dennis knocked down the fifteenth fastest lap overall during the qualifying session prior to advancing to third in his stacked heat race. After starting the 50-lap feature from the inside of the fifth row, Dennis was able to move past two competitors during the caution-free affair on his way to a solid seventh place showing. The Dennis Erb Racing team will return to action in four pivotal Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tilts from April 20-23 in the states of Ohio, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Over $175,000 in prize money will be up for grabs in the hectic four-race stint out east this weekend. Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio (Thursday), Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio (Friday), and Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania (Sunday) will all play host to $10,000 to win showdowns, while the legendary Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland will hold the 36th Annual ‘Stanley Schetrompf Classic’ on Saturday night and a $12,000 payday has been earmarked for the long-standing special event.

Dennis will be back in his own equipment when he takes to the track again starting tomorrow night at the former K-C Raceway and he comes into the quadruple header seventh in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings.
