Not a JR fan at all, but I have to agree with you on this. If the track was junk early and they could see it was gonna be bad, why not just slow down some, avoid the worst holes, raise the ride heights in the front, stiffen up the springs and man up. Its one thing if visibility is impaired, that's dangerous for everyone, but holes... Every car comes equipped with an accelerator, brakes and a steering wheel and drivers can choose where they run on the track. I could dodge holes for 50 laps and do better than 7th, c'mon. Let the idiots go full bore and watch them fall out along the way. It's disappointing to see so many just refuse to run at all and pull in. JMO

I think the series did the best they could with the situation. If this was at my home track I would not want the race to be cancelled. They were hoping they could get the track in good shape and it didn't happen. Fans got to see the show, and some decent heat races, and maybe some of the guys that didn't finish actually did break some stuff on their cars. The problem is the purse is not paying enough to wreck your car over. For Lucas Oil to ask for a vote is a good way to keep the drivers happy, especially if it is a unanimous decision. To whoever wrote that Bloomer would vote no at all the races is funny stuff, he is actually looking to increase his points lead when he shows up, not protect it. I hope the track will be in better shape next season and then they can put on the show they originally intended.

They are fixing to go to tazwell and run in a couple of weeks I'm going it has new clay on it so I guess I need to call ahead and see if it is going to be a points race it is lighting quick track record I think is 10.7 they almost broke the limited track record on opening night it is 11.3 they don't like running there because it is so fast.

Why was the track so bad? I want to go to that race.

If I recall they had a bunch of rain the week leading up to the race. I think 6 cars finished. One of Bloomers wheels broke off while he was leading the race.

Even when the inmates are the show, they can't run the asylum.

I have too. As hard as these cars are on the right side anymore and as soft as the springs are, it's a lot more common than it used to be.

So they voted no points !!!!!!
Did they vote to give the winnings back too ???
-
They did give everyone 100 points however.

Which basically means no points. If everyone got the same, that means zero effect on the points championship outcome (except for somebody like Davenport that wasn't going to chase the series anyway)
-
Yes I know. I was just stating the fact that Lucas did award 100 points to everyone
-
I agree with the decision. If it were my gear, I would've loaded up and left. That place was a JOKE! 100% behind the drivers and owners on this one!

We got an absolute BOATLOAD of rain Thursday and add in the fact they laid down the new surface AFTER winter. It was a lose-lose situation. On the flip side, I have never seen as many people there as I did Friday night. And for that JOKE of a race, I did not see many happy people either.

Putting it down after winter is the biggest mistake. I'm no track owner, promoter or whatever but even I know that.

I know a track that put new clay down three days before a big race, and it held together. Time doesn't matter if you know what you're doing.

Apparently even with Port Royals help they didn't.
