CARNESVILLE, GA – The $10,000-to-win Rattlesnake Rumble, a National event for the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series, is scheduled for this Friday night and Saturday night at Dublin Motor Speedway in Dublin, NC. The race is a point-paying race for the ULTIMATE South East Region, and a bonus race for three other ULTIMATE Regions.

Competitors in the ULTIMATE Battle of the Bluegrass Region can use a finish in the Rattlesnake Rumble to replace an ULTIMATE BoB Regional event point total of lesser value in their season total. The Rattlesnake Rumble is a part of the non-points Introductory Pilot Season for competitors in the ULTIMATE Mid-Ohio Valley and North East Regions.

This weekend will be Round 5 for the ULTIMATE SE Region, and Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA holds a seven point lead over Jason Welshan of Maryville, TN in the standings. Davenport has 116 points to 109 points for Welshan. Tyler Millwood of Cartersville, GA is third with 92 points, and he also leads the Autolite/Fram/DirtOnDirt.com Rookie of the Year point standings.

The defending and two-time ULTIMATE SE Champion Dennis Franklin of Gaffney, SC has moved up to the fourth spot in the standings with 84 points and three-time ULTIMATE SE Champion Casey Roberts of Toccoa, GA is fifth with 81 points. Brett Hamm of Newberry, SC is sixth with 73 points and is second in the Autolite/Fram/DirtOnDirt.com Rookie of the Year standings.

Brandon Overton of Evans, GA is seventh in the ULTIMATE SE standings with 70 points after winning the first two races on March 4 at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA, and Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, VA on April 8. Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN is eighth with 66 points.

The 2011 ULTIMATE Champion Chris Ferguson of Mt. Holly, NC and Michael Page of Douglasville, GA are tied for the ninth spot in the standings with 62 points apiece. Ferguson won the Jack Starrette Memorial 50 on April 15 at Modoc Raceway in Modoc, SC. The latest winner on the ULTIMATE SE Tour was Shane Clanton of Zebulon, GA, who picked up the victory last Saturday night at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA.

ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series competitors will take part in Qualifying and Heat Races on Friday night at Dublin Motor Speedway to set the front of the main event starting field for Saturday night. Saturday night will also see the B-Main Races to field in the back of the field for drivers that failed to qualify for the big show on Friday night.
