Rod and R.J. Conley Scheduled for Weekend Off After Competing in Buckeye Spring 50

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Brothers Rod and R.J. Conley rolled back north to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Thursday evening, April 20 for the annual running of the 'Buckeye Spring 50.' The cars and stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series invaded the former K-C Raceway and a $10,000 winner's check was up for grabs.

R.J. timed in ninth quickest in Group A during the qualifying session prior to running second in his loaded heat race. Rod, on the other hand, laid down the seventh fastest lap in Group B during time trials and later grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race. However, both Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) drivers were hampered by a soft tire selection in the 50-lap headliner, which helped drop Rod to nineteenth in the final finishing order and R.J. to twenty-first at the pay window following the race. Full results from the 'Buckeye Spring 50' can be viewed by pointing your web browser to www.lucasdirt.com.

The CMI teams are scheduled to take the upcoming April 28-29 weekend off from racing action, but are slated to return to dirt-slinging competition again on Saturday night, May 6. R.J. Conley will take his #71c operation to the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky for the 31st edition of the ‘Ralph Latham Memorial,’ which will once again be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and will boast a $12,000 payday. Delmas and Rod Conley are both planning to travel to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on May 6 for the 9th Annual ‘Dan Reno Memorial,’ which pays $2,022 to the winner.
