Dennis Erb, Jr. Seventh in Lucas Oil Series Points Exiting Hectic Eastern Swing

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series grind heated back up from April 20-23 with four scheduled events in the states of Ohio, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. The quadruple header kicked off for the Dennis Erb Racing team on Thursday night with the annual 'Buckeye Spring 50,' which boasted a $10,000 winner's check at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio. Dennis Erb, Jr. timed in thirteenth quickest in Group A during qualifying prior to grabbing the fourth and final transfer spot through his stacked heat race. After starting the 50-lapper from the inside of the seventh row, Dennis was headed towards a solid top ten performance until a skirmish left him with left rear suspension problems and a twelfth place effort.

On Friday evening, a rugged racetrack greeted the #28 team at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio and series competitors unanimously voted that the $10,000 to win special become a non-points race due to the sub par track conditions. Dennis finished seventh in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and twenty-fourth in the 50-lap main event. Following a rain-out of Saturday's program at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland, the hectic weekend wrapped up on Sunday with another $10,000 to win showdown at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania.

Dennis earned Fast Time honors during the qualifying session before slipping back to sixth in his loaded heat race. After a second place run in his B-Main, the Carpentersville, Illinois standout then blitzed past twelve competitors during the 50-lap feature en route to a strong seventh place showing. Dennis now sits seventh in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings exiting the Keystone State. Complete results from each of these races can be found by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

Dennis Erb Racing will stay in their home state of Illinois with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series over the upcoming April 28-29 weekend. Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois will play host to the ‘Busch 50’ this Friday night and a $10,000 top prize will be on the line. A $12,000 payday will then await the victor of Saturday’s ‘St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part 100’ at the tiny Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois.
