Big weekend just got even bigger in east Tennessee

Two big weekends in a row of racing here in east Tennessee. This weekend is the Scott Sexton Memorial Spring Nationals race at Volunteer Speedway $10,052 to win on Friday night. That's followed by the Southern All-Stars for $7,500 to win and USCS sprint cars at Smoky Mountain Speedway on Saturday. With both World of Outlaws and Lucas postponing races this weekend, some heavy hitters are expected at one or both of these races. Chris Madden, Jimmy Owens, Steve Casebolt, Jackie Boggs, Tyler Erb, and Joey Coulter are some that may be coming. I would expect Scott Bloomquist at one or both events.

Next weekend sees the final portion of the Spring Nationals at Smoky Mountain Speedway on Thursday, May 4 for $15,000 to win. Then the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns to Tazewell Speedway on Friday, May 5.
