Richmond Raceway Modified Spring Shootout $1,500 to win Saturday May 6

Richmond, KY (April 30, 2017)- With the 2017 season opener now in the rearview mirror, Richmond Raceway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz kick off the month of May at the 3/10 mile semi-banked clay oval known as “The Beast of the East” with the Modified Spring Shootout, paying $1,500 to win for Open Wheel Modifieds, along with a full racing program for KDRA Super Stocks, Stock Four Cylinders, and the Mini-Cup/Cyclones will also be in competition, while the Late Model division will have the night off.

Richmond Raceway will present the Modified Spring Shootout on Saturday May 6 and will see the Open Wheel Modified division highlighted in a 30 lap, $1,500 to win contest. Also in competition at the Modified Spring Shootout will be the track’s KDRA Super Stock division racing for $750 to win and the Stock Four Cylinder division racing for $500 to win. The Mini-Cup/Cyclone division makes its first of five appearances for the season on May 6 and will race for $100 to win. All divisions will utilize the practice/time trial combo format to determine heat race starting positions. Richmond Raceway also uses transponder timing/scoring and the rental fee for a transponder is $10. RACEceivers are also mandatory and must be is use by drivers anytime they are in their cars out on the track. Also of note, drivers are encouraged to arrive early and need to be at the track no later than 5:30 p.m. if possible.

Activities for the Saturday May 6 Modified Spring Shootout event at Richmond Raceway will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m., with the general admission area gates set to open at 4:30 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 5:45 p.m., with practice/time trial laps set to get underway at 6:15 p.m., while the first green flag to start the racing action will wave at 7:30 p.m. All times EDT. Ticket prices for the May 6 Modified Spring Shootout event at Richmond Raceway in the general admission area will be $13 for adults, with children ages 12 and under admitted free. A pit pass will cost $35, with children ages 6 to 12 $15, and children ages 5 and under free.
