CARNESVILLE, GA – A tight battle among the top ten in the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series will unfold this weekend in the Peach State Double-Header at a pair of tracks owned and promoted by National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Inductees, the Swims Family. They will present a pair of 40-lap $4,000-to-win races on Saturday night at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA and on Sunday night at Rome Speedway in Rome, GA.

Swims Family Patriarch Mickey Swims is going to put up a $1,000 Bonus to any driver that can win both races that are Rounds 6 and 7 of the 2017 ULTIMATE SE schedule. Add to that, $400 in M&W Transport “Haulin’ It” Fast Time Awards. If a driver can sweep the weekend, that could mean a possible payday of $9,400.

Heading into the Peach State Double-Header, just three points separate the top two drivers in the ULTIMATE SE point standings. Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA leads the ULTIMATE Championship hunt with 140 points, and Jason Welshan of Maryville, TN is second in the standings with 137 points.

Tyler Millwood of Cartersville, GA is third in the ULTIMATE SE standings with 122 points, and he also leads the Autolite/Fram/DirtOnDirt.com Rookie of the Year point standings. Millwood will be doing battle on his two home tracks this weekend.

Three former ULTIMATE SE Champions make up the next three spots in the point standings. Defending and two-time Champion Dennis Franklin of Gaffney, SC is fourth with 117 points; three-time Champion Casey Roberts of Toccoa, GA is fifth with 115 points, and the 2011 Champion Chris Ferguson of Mt. Holly, NC is sixth with 94 points.

Brett Hamm of Newberry, SC is seventh in the ULTIMATE SE points chase with 93 points, and he is second in the Autolite/Fram/DirtOnDirt.com Rookie of the Year point standings. G.R. Smith of Statesville, NC is eighth with 72 points, and Brandon Overton of Evans, GA is ninth with 70 points after winning the first two races of the season. Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN rounds out the top ten with 66 points.

The ULTIMATE SE Victory Lane has seen four different faces in five different races. Overton won the 2017 season opener on March 4 at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA, and followed that up with a $20,000 victory in the Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth on April 8 at Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, VA.

Ferguson won his third straight Jack Starrette Memorial 50 on April 15 at Modoc Raceway in Modoc, SC for the ULTIMATE SE Tour, and Shane Clanton of Zebulon, GA took the Round 4 win on April 22 at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA.

Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL picked up his first career ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series win and the $10,000 top prize last Saturday night in the Rattlesnake Rumble at Dublin Motor Speedway in Dublin, NC.

Along with the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series South East Region regulars, the top drivers expected to take to their home tracks of Dixie Speedway on Saturday night and Rome Speedway on Sunday night include Jake Knowles, Derek Ellis, T.J. Reaid, Luke Jenkins, Justin Shipley, Todd Murphy, Frank Ingram, Austin Smith, Ricky Williams, Lamar Haygood, Jason Croft, Wayne Echols, Cass Fowler, Dale Thurman and Buster Goss.
