Kinzer Motorsports Sixth in Trip to Talladega Short Track; Boyd’s Next

(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) Brandon Kinzer and his #18 team rolled into Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama and Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia on May 6-7 for a pair of $4,000 to win special events. The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) invaded TST on Saturday evening for a big show, which accompanied NASCAR's visit across the road at Talladega Superspeedway. Brandon stopped the clock third fastest in his group during qualifying and later started the 40-lap feature from the inside of the third row. After a skirmish dropped him back to eleventh in the running order, BK drove his new Sweet-Bloomquist machine all the way back up to sixth to trail only winner Brandon Overton, Dale McDowell, Dallas Cooper, Cory Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word), and Todd Morrow at the checkered flag.

At Rome on Sunday night, the Ultimate Super Late Model Series presided over another $4,000 to win shootout. Brandon clicked off the fourth quickest time in his group during the qualifying session prior to rolling off from the inside of the fourth row in the 40-lapper. The Lexington, Kentucky native was then running solidly inside of the top ten before unfortunately getting caught up in a crash on a restart. Brandon retired from the event in the eighteenth position while his de facto teammate Dale McDowell went on to capture an exciting victory! The Kinzer Motorsports team is now scheduled to take the next couple of weeks off from racing competition before they sling dirt next on Friday night, May 26 at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia. The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals tour will venture to the Chattanooga-area facility over the Memorial Day holiday weekend to sanction a $4,000 to win showdown.
