Dennis Erb, Jr. Captures FALS Frenzy Checkers and $10,000 Windfall!

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. recorded his second victory of the 2017 racing season and his largest payday to date on Saturday evening, May 13 at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois! The MARS Dirt Car Series and American Late Model Series (ALMS) co-sanctioned the annual 'FALS Frenzy' and a strong field of competitors were on hand at the Land of Lincoln bullring. Dennis stopped the clock seventh fastest in Group A during qualifying and later scored the victory in his heat race. After starting third on the grid in the 50-lap headliner, Dennis worked his way past leader Chase Junghans at the halfway mark in the race and beat Junghans, Ryan Unzicker, Don O'Neal, and Chris Ferguson to the checkers to claim the $10,000 windfall!

Earlier in the busy weekend, the #28 team invaded Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois for the inaugural running of the 'Farmer City 74.' On Thursday night in the $3,000 to win opener, Dennis ran second in his heat race prior to advancing up to seventh in the 35-lapper. In Friday's 'Farmer City 74,' which boasted a whopping $20,000 winner's check, the Carpentersville, Illinois star finished fourth in his heat race and second in his B-Main before picking off thirteen competitors during the 74-lap finale en route to a steady seventh place performance. Complete results from the tripleheader weekend can be viewed online at www.farmercityracing.com and www.fairburyspeedway.com.

“The racetrack really cleaned up during the feature at Fairbury and got to our liking,” stated the soft-spoken Erb this week. “Once it did, the car really took off and we were able to get by (Chase) Junghans for the lead and eventually get the win. We’ve been a little bit up and down here lately, but I think we’ve hit on some things to get back going again. Hopefully, things continue in that direction this week when we get back on the Lucas tour. It’s a busy stretch for us with a lot of big races coming up, so it’s nice to have some momentum on our side following the FALS Frenzy win!”

The Dennis Erb Racing team will return to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series grind from May 18-20 in the Upper Midwest. Things will kick off on Thursday at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois with night one of the ‘Spring Shootout,’ while the second round of the ‘Spring Shootout’ is scheduled for Friday at Luxemburg Speedway in Luxemburg, Wisconsin. Both series duels will pay $10,000 to the winner. The triple shot of Lucas Oil Series action will then wrap up on Saturday in the $12,000 to win ‘NAPA North Star Nationals’ at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota. Dennis comes into the weekend eighth in the latest version of the heated LOLMDS point standings. More information on each of these races can be obtained by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.
