UMP Modifieds,open IMCA/USRA Sport Mod show, Sun May 21 @Quincy

This Sunday May 21st features a full night of action at Quincy Raceways. On tap are Kickstart Super Late Models, Miller Lite Modifieds, JB Hawks Crate Late Models, Summy Tire Sportmods, Powder Coat Plus Stock Cars and IMCA Sport Compacts. Sportmods were not on our original schedule, but we have added them as an open show for this Sunday and they will be racing for $500 to win. Any IMCA or USRA car is eligible to race. Kenny Wallace has Quincy on his dirt racing schedule for Sunday night, so there is an additional treat to our already great racing. We have moved to our 6:30 start time for the summer. Pit gates open at 3:30, Grandstands at 4:30. Driver sign-in ends at 5:30, Hot Laps 6:00. Racing at 6:30. Adult admission is $12, Seniors $9, Ages 11-16 $5, Kids 10 and under Free.

Just in case you are wondering, we are still planning to be racing Sunday. Yes it's awful wet right now and we did get a lot of rain, but I'm posting this 30 hours before hot laps. That's a lot of time. We'll know a lot more in the morning but if we can get cars in the pits by late afternoon, we'll be racing. The sun is going to start peeking out later today and most of the day tomorrow.... we have a little wind in the forecast... Might as well plan on it.

It's looking better and better for us tomorrow with each hour of sun this afternoon. We have equipment and people in place to give it a whirl tomorrow. I'd say you might think about loading a race car tonight. Liking our chances.

Just seen Kenny's schedule has changed with the weather now and he will not be racing with us tomorrow night now in the Modified division.

Words that haven't been spoken much in the racing world this weekend... "WE ARE RACING TONIGHT" It's the stuff that happens behind the scenes that make this kind of thing possible. Kevin has spent tons of time on the grader this year getting the place re-graded so it can drain - even after a 4 inch rain weekend. Tommy and Hank have developed a routine for days like this over the past few years that makes up a lot of ground on race day. It's by no means going to be perfect... but it's going to be just fine.
