Jimmy Mars Sets Sights on Show-Me 100 Extravaganza Following Luxemburg

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) The Mars Racing team traveled across the Badger State for a $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdown on Friday night, May 19 at Luxemburg Speedway in Luxemburg, Wisconsin. Jimmy Mars laid down the eleventh quickest time overall during the qualifying session prior to finishing sixth in his stacked heat race. With passing at a premium during the 50-lap feature event, Jimmy was still able to drive past four competitors on his way to a thirteenth place showing.

On Saturday evening, May 20, Jimmy was slated to battle the LOLMDS foes once again at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota in the inaugural 'NAPA North Star Nationals,' which boasted a $12,000 top prize. Unfortunately, inclement weather was the norm in the area throughout the weekend and wound up canceling the lucrative program. Full results from Friday's stop at Luxemburg can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Next up on the racing calendar for the #28 team will be the 25th Annual ‘Show-Me 100’ on May 25-27, as three separate Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tilts will be held at the state-of-the-art Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. A $6,000 paycheck will be up for grabs in Thursday’s ‘Cowboy Classic,’ while the $6,000 to win ‘Tribute to Don and Billie Gibson’ is scheduled for Friday. Both preliminary programs will consist of qualifying, heat races, consolation events, and a 40-lap feature. Points will be awarded in each of the two preliminary shows to determine the line-ups for Saturday’s crown jewel finale, which will once again boast a whopping $30,000 windfall.
