CARNESVILLE, GA – Virginia Motor Speedway owner Bill Sawyer knows how to throw a racing party for the FASTRAK Pro Late Models by hosting three of the richest events on the 2017 schedule of events. Up next for FASTRAK is the 40-lap $3,000-to-win, $275-to-start USA 100 this Saturday night at the Jamaica, VA Taj Mahal of Dirt.

The Virginia Motor Speedway USA 100 is the second of two of the richest single-day races in all of Regional Dirt Late Model Racing. FASTRAK’s sister series, the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series will compete in a 60-lap $20,000-to-win, $575-to-start race. The first richest single-day extravaganza was the Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth on April 8.

Both of the big money races at VMS are just paid hot lap sessions for the Richest Weekend in all of Pro Late Model Racing, the FASTRAK World Championship Race weekend on September 15 and 16. On September 15, it’s the $5,000-to-win FASTRAK World Challenge Race for FASTRAK Member drivers, and on September 16 it’s the $20,000-to-win FASTRAK World Championship Race open to everyone.

The FASTRAK Pro Late Model Series will arrive at Virginia Motor Speedway with a new point leader, and just ten points separating the top five. Jensen Ford of Piney Flats, TN has a one point lead over the defending FASTRAK Champion Cla Knight of North Augusta, SC. Ford has 91 points to 90 points for Knight.

Benji Hicks of Mt. Airy, NC is just four points out in the third spot of the standings with 87 points. Hicks won the FASTRAK South East Region season opener on April 1 at Toccoa Raceway in Toccoa, GA. Former FASTRAK SE Champion Ron Parker is fourth in the standings with 84 points, and Matthew Nance of Ronda, NC is fifth with 81 points.

Tyler Bare of Rockridge Baths, VA will compete in his home state this Saturday night riding sixth in the FASTRAK standings with 66 points, and Dylan Lewis of Oakland, MD is seventh with 65 points. Phillip Thompson of Knoxville, TN is the leading Rookie of the Year candidate in the eighth spot with 60 points, while Teddy Tate of Rural Retreat, VA is ninth with 56 points and Frankie Beard of Hartwell, GA rounds out the top ten in the FASTRAK standings with 50 points.

The USA 100 at Virginia Motor Speedway is also a rare opportunity for the FASTRAK Pro Late Models to share the racing program with its sister series, the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series. This is always a fan favorite, as they get double the dirt late model action in one night of racing. The USA 100 will award FASTRAK points for both the South East Region and the Mid-Ohio Region.

On Saturday at Virginia Motor Speedway, the pit gate opens at 3 p.m., with FASTRAK Pre-Race Registration and Technical/Safety Inspection from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Drivers need to bring their helmets and head and neck restraint systems to Tech along with their race car. The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., and Hot Laps are set for 6 p.m.
