Mike Harrison Claims Summit Racing Equipment AMS Victory at Fayette County Speedway

Brownstown, IL – May 28, 2017 - The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series would conclude its Memorial Day Weekend of racing action at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL on Sunday evening and Mike Harrison of Highland, IL would pick up the $3,000 payday in his Impressive Race Cars #24 entry.

The start of the event would see a tussle for the lead and fourth place starting Rick Conoyer would come out with the race lead and would lead the first eighteen circuits of the contest before Trent Young would lead on lap nineteen. Young would hold the top spot until lap thirty when the J-bar broke on Young’s mount and draw a caution flag. The restart would see Josh Harris lead lap thirty-one, but lap thirty-two would see the race winning pass take place when Mike Harrison would roll past Harris and hold the lead the remainder of the way in the thirty-five lap contest to score the win. Harris would settle for runner-up honors, while early race leader Conoyer would complete the podium finihsers. Brent Mullins would finish in the fourth position, while James Edens would finish in the fifth position.

The remainder of the top ten at the completion of the Summit Racing Equipment A-Main at Fayette County Speedway would be Rodney Standerfer, Zach Schantz, Danny Schwartz, Gabe Menser, and Tait Davenport.

The next events for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will be Friday June 23 at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, OH and Saturday June 24 at Florence Speedway in Union, KY. Both events will pay $1,500 to win and $200 to start.
