Dennis Erb, Jr. Lands in Top Ten in Nebraska and Missouri; Looks to Defend Dream Title!

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The cars and stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series rolled into I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska on Tuesday, May 23 for a special mid-week battle, as a $10,000 winner's check was on the line in the inaugural running of the 'Go 50.' Dennis Erb, Jr. laid down the fifteenth fastest lap in Group B during qualifying before placing sixth in his stacked heat race. Following a triumph in his B-Main, Dennis was able to drive past eight competitors during the 50-lap feature event on his way to a solid tenth place performance.

Following I-80, the #28 team ventured to the pristine Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri from May 25-28 for the 25th Annual 'Show-Me 100,' which was co-sanctioned by both the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Lucas Oil MLRA Series. Dennis was unfortunately involved in a scrape with Jesse Stovall in Thursday's $6,000 to win preliminary program and finished twenty-second, while he won his heat race before notching a solid eighth place effort in Friday's $6,000 to win prelim.

After inclement weather pushed back the 'Show-Me 100' to Sunday evening, Dennis earned the rights to the fifteenth starting spot for the 100-lap crown jewel extravaganza, which boasted a hefty $30,000 payday. The Carpentersville, Illinois star was able to steer his Black Diamond mount by eight racecars during the 100-lapper to finish seventh and still finds himself eighth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings. The Dennis Erb Racing team is slated to take a rare weekend off from racing action on June 2-3 to make preparations for the upcoming ‘Dirt Late Model Dream,’ which will be held at the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio from June 8-10. A pair of preliminary shows will kick things off at the “Big E,” as Twin 25s will pay $5,000 to win next Thursday and $10,000 to win next Friday. Saturday’s traditional lineup at the 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant will feature heat races, consolation events, and the 100-lap crown jewel headliner, which once again pays a whopping $100,000 to the victor. Dennis is the defending ‘Dirt Late Model Dream’ winner and has finished inside of the top five in his last four starts in the storied event!
