Ponderosa Speedway Has Full Racing Program June 9; 2nd Annual Big Daddy Classic June 10

Junction City, KY- June 3, 2017- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jamie Stumph and co-owner Larry Redenius will present a doubleheader of racing action in all six weekly divisions at the 3/8-mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” as the track will present a full racing program of weekly racing series action on Friday June 9, followed by the 2nd Annual Big Daddy Classic on Saturday June 10 that will feature the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series racing for $3,088 to win, the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series racing for $1,288 to win, and Pro (Crate) Late Models racing for $1,288 to win.

The racing program at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday June 9 will feature all six weekly divisions in competition with Super Late Models racing for $1,200 to win, while Pro (Crate) Late Models will compete for $800 to win. Joining these two divisions on June 9 will be Open Wheel Modifieds racing for $700 to win and KDRA Super Stocks racing for $600 to win. Completing the racing program on June 9 will be Stock Four Cylinders racing for $300 to win and Mini-Cup/Cyclones racing for $100 to win. All divisions will utilize the practice/time trial combo format to determine heat race starting positions. Transponder timing/scoring is used at Ponderosa Speedway and the rental fee for a transponder is $10. RACEceivers are also mandatory and are required to be in use each a competitor is on the track.

On Saturday June 10, Ponderosa Speedway will present the 2nd Annual Big Daddy Classic, featuring the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series in action for $3,088 to win, along with the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series racing for $1,288 to win, plus the track’s Pro (Crate) Late Model division will be in competition for $1,288 to win. Also in competition on Saturday June 10 will be the track’s KDRA Super Stocks racing for $688 to win, Stock Four Cylinders racing for $388 to win, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones racing for $188 to win. All divisions will utilize the practice/time trial combo format to determine heat race starting positions. Transponder timing/scoring is used at Ponderosa Speedway and the rental fee for a transponder is $10. RACEceivers are also mandatory and are required to be in use each a competitor is on the track.

The Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series will be in charge of the Super Late Model portion of the racing program. There will be NO entry fee for Super Late Model competitors, as Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jamie Stumph will take care of the entry fee for all Super Late Model teams. The Super Late Model tire rule for the event will be as follows: Hoosier 1350 and 1600; American Racer 48 and 56. Tire samples will be taken and any competitor that has tire samples taken will have their money held by the track and/or series until tire test results have been reported.

The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will be in charge of the Open Wheel Modified portion of the racing program. The entry fee for Modified competitors will be $20. The Modified tire rule for the event will be as follows: Front- Medium, A40S, M-30s, A40, Hard, H40, & M-60 (siping allowed on front due to carry-over from 2016 season); Rear- Hoosier A40S, M-30S, A40, Hard, H40, M-60 and American Racer Hard and Extra Hard with no grooving allowed. The only tires that can be siped on the rear is the Hoosier M-60 and American Racer Extra Hard

Also, as part of the 2nd Annual Big Daddy Classic, Late Model and Modified series sponsors Friends of Monticello, KY and Rounders Racing will sponsor a meal for all Super Late Model and Open Wheel Modified drivers from the track concession area, with each driver getting a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink.

Activities for the Friday June 9 racing program at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area and general admission area gates open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m., followed immediately by practice and time trials, and green flag racing. Ticket prices for the Friday June 2 event in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, with children ages 12 and under free. A pit pass will be $30, with children ages 6 to 12 in the pit area $15, and children in the pit area ages 5 and under free.

Activities for the 2nd Annual Big Daddy Classic racing program at Ponderosa Speedway on Saturday June 10 will see the pit area and general admission area gates open at 3:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m., followed immediately by practice, Super Late Model time trials, and green flag racing. Ticket prices for the Saturday June 10 Big Daddy Classic event in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, with children ages 12 and under free. A pit pass will be $35, with children ages 6 to 12 in the pit area $15, and children in the pit area ages 5 and under free.
