Lake City, MI - Merritt Speedway track management is pleased to announce UMP Modifieds will be competing for a massive bonus during one weekend of racing this summer. The speedways Cadillac Tire Center UMP Modifieds always put on extraordinarily entertaining races on the clay oval, and that will be ramped up even more in 2017.

Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, July 1, 2, and 3 will mark the divisions biggest and highest paying weekend of racing in the State of Michigan in 2017. Drivers will be competing to win a $15,000 bonus, if they are able to win all three UMP Modified A Feature races on those nights. The Cadillac Tire Center UMP Modifieds were not previously on the docket for Saturday, July 1, but with this new bonus challenge, will now be competing. The track will sanction the races on Saturday and Sunday, while the American Ethanol Modified Tour will sanction the third and final night. All three races will have 24-cars start the A Feature event, as required at minimum for the bonus to be eligible and paid out. Allstar Performance and American Ethanol along with Carbon Green Bio Energy have joined Merritt Speedway as presenting sponsors of the bonus program.

Night one of Soaring Eagle Casino Independence Weekend, Saturday, July 1 will see UMP Modified competitors race for $1,500-to-Win, joining the Tony Stewart owned All Star Circuit of Champion Sprint Cars, Keyser Manufacturing UMP Modifieds, and others. On Sunday, fans will get grandstand entry for just $5, and see the UMP Modifieds again racing for $1,500-to-Win. Also racing on Sunday is the American Ethanol Late Model Tour and other support divisions, with the night being capped off with the largest Fireworks display in Merritt Speedway’s 49-year history. Monday, July 3, is the Allstar Performance Classic, featuring $10,000-to-Win, with the American Ethanol Modified Tour presented by Allstar Performance. In total, if a driver is able to claim victory on all three nights of UMP Modified action, they will earn an incredible $28,000 in winnings!

Merritt Speedway, which is located in Lake City, Michigan, hosts the largest dirt track racing events in the State of Michigan. On Wednesday, June 14, the American Ethanol UMP Late Models will race for $10,000-to-Win in the third annual Merritt Showdown presented by Don’s Auto Clinic. The All Star Circuit of Champions, Sprints on Dirt, Great Lakes Super Sprints, and MTS Non-Wing Sprint cars all race throughout the summer. The UMP Summer Nationals Hell Tour visits Merritt on Thursday, July 13, as kickoff to the 29th Annual Ed VanDuinen Wood Tic. A northern lower Michigan crowd favorite, World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series, races in their only State of Michigan appearance on Saturday and Sunday, August 26 and 27. The track hosts weekly Saturday night racing, from May 20 to September 3.

New for 2017 is all new aluminum bleacher seating to accommodate large crowds for the biggest events, as well as professional speedway Musco LED lighting to put the spotlight on the weekly heroes that compete.
