SOUTHERN ALL STAR DIRT RACING SERIES PR#9

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Jason Hiett Wins B J Parker Memorial Southern All Stars At Talladega

RACE RECAP: EASTABOGA, AL-Jason Hiett of Oxford, AL., scored his second career Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Victory Saturday night wining the 5th Annual B J Parker Memorial. A 42 lap $4,200 to win race that honored the founder of the Southern All Stars B J Parker. Hiett lead from start to finish, but it was not easy as he had to work his way through some tough lapped traffic and then hold off the advances late in the race of a hard charging Dallas Cooper, Tim Roszell and Austin Horton. Hiett would stretch his lead over the second through fourth trio, but the lapped traffic he used to his advantage, as he worked it to hold those three cars behind him and help slow their momentum down. Cooper did make one last run in final stages of the race but Hiett was just too strong and went on to get his second career series win. Copper improved one spot from his May showing with the series with the second place finish, third to local favorite and multi track champion Tim Roszell of Anniston, Al., fourth place went current Southern All Stars points leader Austin Horton of Newnan, GA., and fifth to Boaz, AL., driver Tim Busha who had his best run with the series in quite a few races.
Finishing in the sixth spot was Todd Morrow who had a strong run heading to the front till a fifth coil broke slowing his momentum, seventh place went to Josh Adkins, eighth to Riley Hickman, ninth T J Reaid and tenth to Chris Noah.

RACE TIDBITS: Points leader Austin Horton extended his points lead a few more markers of T J Reaid, Matt Perry of Niceville, Fl., also moved into the top ten after 8 races. Cruz Skinner of Oxford, Al., made his first start with the series in 2017 as well as Heath Hindman of Soddy Daisy, TN., Joseph Faulkner of Flintville, TN., Dusty Carver of Englewood, TN., Jason Lively of Jacksonville, AL., Oliver Gentry of Newnan, Ga., and Jimmy Elkins Jr of Talladega, AL.
