Cory Hedgec ock Repeats in J.T. Kerr Memorial

Loudon, Tennessee (06/12/17) – Cory Hedgec ock piloted his Cushman #23 Valley Transport/Rocket Chassis XR1/ Eagle Racing Engine Late Model to his 13th win of 2017 on Saturday evening. The $4,000 victory marked his second-straight win in the J.T. Kerr Memorial at 411 Motor Speedway.

Cory Hedgec ock was back in action with the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series on Friday, kicking off the two-night swing in the Volunteer State. In a field of 20 entries at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tennessee), Hedgec ock timed in third fastest in qualifying, positioning him 3rd on the starting grid for the feature. Battling for a $2,000 payday, Cory led the opening 32 laps before losing the lead in lapped traffic.

Hedgec ock would fight tooth and nail to regain the top spot, but ultimately settled with a 2nd-place finish when the checkered the flag flew. He trailed Jesse Lowe across the finish line with Colton Horner, Walker Arthur, and Logan Roberson completing the Top-5 finishers.

The following night with 24 entries on hand at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee) for the J.T. Kerr Memorial, Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) posted the fastest time overall in time trials locking him into the pole position for the A-Main. Taking control of the lead on the opening lap, Cory led all 40 circuits, capturing his 13th win of the season. Jimmy Elliott, Rusty Ballenger, Shep Lucas, and Matt Henderson completed the Top 5.

Hedgec ock pocketed a $4,000 payday for his dominant performance in the feature honoring the late East Tennessee racer.

Running in the Steelhead division on the same night, Hedgec ock followed up the fifth fastest time in qualifying with a 3rd-place finish in the feature behind Chase King and Jason Caldwell with Trevor Sise and Ruben Mayfield rounding out the Top 5.

“I hated to lose Friday night’s feature in lapped traffic but sometimes it goes that way,” Hedgec ock commented. “We bounced back nicely to grab the big win on Saturday night. A first, a second, and a third in three races this weekend is definitely nothing to hang your head about.”
