Dustin Strand Wins Twice in Weekend Competition

Grand Forks, North Dakota (06/13/17) –Dustin Strand once again found Victory Lane in two different divisions over the course of the weekend as he continued his blistering start to the 2017 campaign

Pushing his double-winning streak to three straight weeks, he powered both his RealTruck.com #71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating/ Millenium SRT Modified and his RH Rebel Storage #71 Anderson Brothers Body Shop/ Millenium SRT Late Model to the winner’s circle. His 2017-win tally now stands at seven.

Dustin Strand kicked off the busy weekend on Thursday night piloting his Q&Z Plumbing & Heating #71 Super Late Model at Red River Co-op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba). With 12 cars on hand, Strand started the night off with a heat race win from the 2nd-starting spot. Rolling off 8th for the 20-lap feature, Dustin wheeled his way to the front, picking up his sixth win of the season, which came over Mike Balcaen, Kevin Sexton, Bill Mooney, and Shane Holden.

The following night took Strand to River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota), where he pulled double duty in the Super Late Model and Open Wheel Modified ranks. Following a heat race win in his Late Model, Strand salvaged a 5th-place finish in the feature on a one-lane track, trailing Zach Naastad, Brad Seng, Mike Balcaen, and Joey Pederson across the finish line.

In the Modified division, Dustin improved four positions in his heat race to place 2nd behind Rick Delaine. Battling with Ward Imrie for the top spot in the feature, Strand landed a 2nd-place finish behind Imrie in an exciting photo finish ending. Scott Greer, Ryan Kereluk, and Aaron Holtan completed the Top 5 finishers.

Closing out the weekend, Strand stopped at Devils Lake Speedway (Lakota, North Dakota) on Saturday for the Open Wheel Modified special. Passing four cars in his heat race, Strand posted a 2nd-place finish behind Rick Delaine, locking him into the 3rd-starting spot for the A-Main. After exchanging the lead with Ward Imrie throughout the feature, Dustin Strand came out on top at the end of the 25-lapper, capturing his seventh win of the season a $1,000 payday. Imrie, Scott Greer, Eric Haugland, and Ryan Kereluk rounded out the Top 5.

“It was another busy but good weekend for our team,” Strand noted. “There’s a lot of strong competition in this area, so to be consistently getting wins in two divisions right now shows how well our team is performing.”
