Dennis Erb, Jr. Lands Inside Top Five in Dream Prelim; Back on Lucas Tour at Magnolia

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing traveled to the Buckeye State of Ohio from June 8-10 for the 23rd edition of the 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' A stellar field of 79 Super Late Model competitors signed in at the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio and all eyes were focused on the whopping $100,000 winner's share. Things kicked off at the "Big E" on Thursday and Friday with a pair of preliminary programs, which paid $5,000 and $10,000 to win respectively in Twin 25 lap sprints.

Dennis Erb, Jr. placed third in Thursday night's heat race before climbing to fifth in the 25-lap feature to finish behind only winner Scott Bloomquist, Chris Madden, Jimmy Mars, and Billy Moyer. On Friday evening, Dennis earned Fast Time honors during qualifying prior to winning his heat race and finishing eighth in the 25-lapper. Looking to repeat in Saturday's 'Dirt Late Model Dream,' the Carpentersville, Illinois ace grabbed the third and final transfer spot through his heat race, but could only muster a fifteenth place showing in the 100-lap headliner. Comprehensive coverage from the crown jewel extravaganza last weekend at Eldora can be viewed by pointing your web browser to www.eldoraspeedway.com.

The #28 team will be back in action on the ultra-competitive Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tour on June 16-17 at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. Qualifying and heat races for the annual running of the ‘Clash at the Mag’ will be held on the “black ice” later tonight, while consolation events and the 100-lap, $20,000 to win main event are slated for Saturday evening.

Dennis was solid in last year’s version of the ‘Clash at the Mag,’ as he finished the mega-event in the sixth position behind only winner Darrell Lanigan, Jimmy Owens, Brandon Sheppard, Scott Bloomquist, and Jared Landers. He comes into the two-day spectacular eighth in the latest edition of the heated LOLMDS point standings. Additional information on “The Mag” can be accessed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.
