Delmas Conley Records Career Win #555 at PRP; Eyes Boone Coleman Gator 50

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Delmas Conley racked up win #555 in his illustrious career on Saturday evening, June 10 at the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio! Delmas stopped the clock sixth fastest during the qualifying session prior to picking up the victory in the fast dash to earn the pole position for the weekly Super Late Model main event. The Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer and patriarch of the racing Conley family then took control of the feature field on lap six and steered his XR1 Rocket Chassis to the $2,000 triumph ahead of Ben Adkins, Shannon Thornsberry, Audie Swartz, and Brandon Fouts!

His sons Rod and R.J. Conley ventured to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio from June 8-10 to compete in the 23rd edition of the 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' While Rod was unable to put his #71r machine into an A-Main at the 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant, R.J. was able to transfer into both preliminary features. The Wheelersburg, Ohio ace won his heat race and finished ninth in the $5,000 to win weekend opener on Thursday, while he retired early in the twenty-fourth position in Friday's $10,000 to win main event.

Unfortunately, both drivers missed out on transferring into Saturday night's 'Dirt Late Model Dream' headliner, which once again paid $100,000 to the winner. R.J. ran fourth in his stacked heat race and twenty-sixth in his B-Main, while "Hot Rod" placed ninth in his heat race and fifteenth in his B-Main. Full results from both Buckeye State venues can be accessed online at www.portsraceway.com and www.eldoraspeedway.com.

With Rod Conley scheduled to take this coming weekend off from racing competition, Delmas and R.J. Conley will carry the Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) banner back to Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Saturday night, June 17 for the annual running of the ‘Boone Coleman Gator 50.’ The Super Late Model special at PRP tomorrow evening will pay $5,000 to the victor. R.J. is then slated to take his #71c operation to Midway Speedway in Crooksville, Ohio on Sunday, June 18 for the $12,000 to win ‘Jim Dunn Memorial.’ More information concerning both of these unsanctioned shows can be viewed online at www.portsraceway.com and the Midway Speedway Facebook page.
