Vance & Hines is seeking a qualified Truck Driver / Support Mechanic, with a CDL, to join the Factory Harley Davidson Flat Track Team to safely deliver our motorcycles and components to race events throughout the country and assist with the presentation and execution of our racing efforts. The operation will be based at the Vance & Hines racing facility currently located in Brownsburg, IN.About the PositionThe Truck Driver/ Support Mechanic will be part of a team who support the Factory Harley Davidson Flat Track Team. The individual will be responsible for driving a team hauler to and from assigned events. The individual will also insure the vehicle is loaded appropriately for each event and that the unit is properly maintained and serviced. Primary Responsibilities are broken down into three categories: At the shop, on the road, both on the road and at the track.At the shop:• Assist team members in maintaining good working order of all trucks, trailers, and rolling stock, including basic repair and maintenance tasks• Assure trucks are prepared and loaded with all necessary supplies prior to departure• Load trucks and secure all motorcycles and equipment for travel• Clean and detail interior and exterior of trucks to assure professional presentation at all times• Participate in completion of all reporting requirements for the operations over the road fleet• Assist bike chiefs in routine maintenance of motorcycles• Lead in the inventory management of manufactured and purchased parts.On the road:• Adhere to all State, Federal and local regulations regarding the movement of our trucks and equipment• Assure the safe and timely delivery of motorcycles and equipment to facilities throughout the US• Present a clean professional image for yourself and your equipment at all timesBoth on the road and at the track:• Assist with the set up and tear down of the hospitality and pit areas• Assure that the pit and hospitality areas are clean, organized and in good working order at all times• Facilitate the successful operation of the race team by assisting in tasks that may be outside your job description• Assist bike chief in race day modifications and post-race maintenanceRequired education and experience• High School Diploma required• Minimum two years’ experience in over the road truck driving• Safe driving record• Experience in Motorsports operations preferredSkills and abilities• Valid Class A CDL and current Medical Examiner’s Certificate• Knowledge of transportation equipment• Capable of representing the company with racing customers, public, and Harley Davidson dealers• Able to work extended hours and be on your feet continuously• The ability to travel in the United States without restriction• Detail oriented• Positive, hardworking attitude• Willingness to learn new skills and responsibilities• Ability to work in team environment• The ability to lift 50lbs For our employees, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including:• Competitive Compensation Plan• Major Medical Insurance Plan• Company sponsored Life insurance, as well as Voluntary Life Options• Voluntary Long Term Disability• PPO Vision Plan• Dental Plan• Flexible Spending Accounts (dependent & health care)• Paid Vacations, Holidays, and Personal Leave• 401K Savings PlanWe operate a drug free workplace.
