CARNESVILLE, GA – The 2017 FASTRAK Weekly Racing Series season has reached the completion of the 12th week of competition, and several drivers at the top of the FASTRAK Weekly Racing Series National point standings are approaching the 15th week of the their 2017 season. With drivers being able to count their best 15 finishes during the season, they will start netting points.

To net their top 15 finishes, a driver will try to replace their lowest weekly total with a higher one. The FASTRAK Weekly Racing Series point system pays 45 points for a win, and then it drops off one point per position. Until a driver reaches the 15 week point in their season, we will use a system called a Weekly Point Average, or WPA, to get a gauge where a drivers stands in the points.

The WPA points work the same as the weekly points, with 45 being a perfect score, a WPA of 41 means the driver is averaging a fifth-place finish, and a WPA of 36 means a driver is averaging a tenth-place finish. At the end of the season, the driver with the highest point total among their best 15 weekly finishes will win $10,000.

Frankie Beard of Harwell, GA leads the FASTRAK Weekly Racing Series National standings with 487 points.
