Southern Nationals Bonus Series Makes First Visit to North Georgia Speedway for $10,000 Race July 4th

BRASSTOWN, N.C. – June 28, 2017 – North Georgia Speedway will host the largest event of the season on Tuesday Night July 4th as the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee RV will invade the track located just outside of Chatsworth, Ga. This will mark the first-ever appearance by the fourth-year tour.

The Southern Nationals Series will race 50 laps for $10,000-to-win and $500-to-start featuring some of the region’s best stars battling for the big money. In addition to the ground-pounding Super Late Models, the Crate Late Models, A-Hobby and Pony divisions will all be on the racing card for the Fourth of July holiday’s activities. A huge fireworks show will also light up the night sky during the intermission.

On Tuesday July 4th, the pit gates will open at 3:00 pm, the grandstand gates will open at 5:00 pm and the driver’s meeting will be at 6:45 pm and hot laps will roll out shortly afterwards. Adult general admission is $25.00 per person, adult pit passes are $40.00 per person and adult trackside/fence parking is $25.00 per person.

The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series (Summer Tour) last visited North Georgia Speedway on July 23, 2013 when Aaron Ridley of Chatsworth, Ga. captured the $3,500 payday over Billy Ogle Jr., Eric Jacobsen, Chris Madden and William Thomas.

The tire rule for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series-sanctioned event at North Georgia Speedway will be as follows: Hoosier 1350 and 1600 along with the American Racer 48 and 56 compounds. The Late Model series entry fee is $100. Also, the highest finishing driver using a CT525 engine package will receive a $200 bonus and the highest finishing driver using a Steel Head/SPEC engine package will receive a $200 bonus courtesy of the series.
