    Sunoco Race Fuels Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial $10,059 to win at Richmond Raceway Saturday July 22

    Richmond, KY- July 12, 2017- Richmond Raceway co-promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are pleased to announce details for the track’s marque event as they are set to present the 30th Annual Sunoco Race Fuels Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial event at the 3/10-mile red clay oval known as “The Beast of the East” on Saturday July 22.

    The Super Late Model portion of the program will be sanctioned by the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series and will see the Late Models racing 59 laps for a $10,059 to win payday. Also on the “Butterball” racing program on Saturday July 22 will be the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Series Open Wheel Modified division racing for $1,259 to win. The AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks will be racing for $759 to win, along with the Baker Iron and Metal Stock Four Cylinders racing for $559 to win.

    Also of note, there will be an open practice night at Richmond Raceway on the evening prior to the “Butterball”, with the practice night taking place on Friday July 21 for all divisions. The pit area will open at 5:00 p.m., with open practice laps taking place from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A pit pass for the open practice night on July 21 will be $20, while admission in the general admission area will be free.

    Richmond Raceway will present the 28th Annual Sunoco Race Fuels Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge event on Saturday July 22 and will feature the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series in a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 59 lap, $10,059 to win/$500 to start “Butterball” main event. Also on the “Butterball” racing program will be the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Series Open Wheel Modifieds racing for $1,259 to win, along with the AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks racing for $759 to win and the Baker Iron and Metal Stock Four Cylinders racing for $559 to win. For the “Butterball” Memorial on Saturday July 22, all divisions, except for the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Series Late Models, will utilize the practice/time trial combo format to determine heat race starting positions, while the Late Models will have a separate practice and time trials session. RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and must be used by the driver each time he/she is on the racing surface in their race car. Also, transponder scoring/timing is used at Richmond Raceway and the rental for a transponder is $10 and can be taken care of at driver registration (the track uses the yellow Westhold transponders). It is pertinent that all drivers be at the track and signed in by 5:30 p.m.

    The Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Series will sanction the Late Model portion of the program and the entry fee for the Late Model division will be $100 and the tire rules will be as follows: Hoosier 1350 and 1600 or American Racer 48 and 56 on all four corners of the race cars. Tire samples will be taken and any driver that has tire samples taken will have their prize money held by the track and/or series until the tire test results have been reported by the testing lab. The Late Model car and driver weight rules for this event will be as follows: 2350 lbs. for an Open Motor, 2300 lbs. for a Steel Block/Aluminum Head - Spec Motor Only (8" spoiler allowed, 12" sides), 2250 lbs. for a CT525 Motor (8" spoiler allowed) and 2250 lbs. for an all Steel Motor or Crate Motor (8" spoiler allowed, 12" sides). There will be a pound per lap burnoff plus 5 lbs. in Heats, B-Mains, and in the Feature event.

    The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will sanction the Open Wheel Modified portion of the event and the entry fee for the Open Wheel Modified division will be $20 (which includes transponder rental) and the tire rule will be as follows: Front- Medium, A40S, M-30s, A40, Hard, H40, & M-60 (siping allowed on front due to carry-over from 2016 season); Rear- Hoosier A40S, M-30S, A40, Hard, H40, M-60 and American Racer Hard and Extra Hard with no grooving allowed. The only tires that can be siped on the rear is the Hoosier M-60 and American Racer Extra Hard. The car and driver weight rule for the Open Wheel Modified division is 2400 lbs.

    Activities for the 28th Annual Sunoco Race Fuels Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial event at Richmond Raceway on Saturday July 22 will see the pit area open at 2:00 p.m., with the general admission area open at 3:30 p.m. Driver’s registration will close promptly at 5:30 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 5:45 p.m, with practice/time trial combo laps set to begin around 6:15 p.m., and the green flag for the first race will wave at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices for the “Butterball” Memorial on Saturday July 22 in the general admission area will be $30 for adults, with children ages 12 and under FREE. For the pit area, adult prices will be $45, with children ages 6 to 12 costing $15, and children ages five and under FREE
