Thieves at PDC Fairbury

I tried to search for some info on this on Yellowbullet but didn't have time to read all of the threads on thievery but there's a story in the drag racing world where some racers caught a guy going through their haulers stealing wallets, jewelry, etc.
When the police showed up, no one was around except the thief...with the front tire of a motorhome parked on his hand. No officer...I don't know how he got there...

Don't know if it's actually true or not but if so, some dirtbag got what he deserved!!

I've seen Bill packing what looks like this same case around. The stuff that's in that thing, would only appeal to certain people. It's basically what he keeps his tools in to adjust valves, if that's the same one of course. It won't be a easy sell.

lol That would be justice. I'd seen the pictures of this stolen firepit before. I couldn't help but think "What is the thief going to do with this firepit? It's not like he could take it out in public and use it." Then again maybe he is that dumb.

unfortunately probably to scrap it as scrap metal, it was an auction item from Jeff Curl Racing race party, Jeff did offer a small reward if anyone can recover it though.

It was some other camping troll that was probably close by. This happens everyday. I rode my harley to the track and some scumbag broke into the bags and stole my leathers. That person was lucky because if I had to , he would not have walked out under his own power.

There inlies the problem, Blackie. There is little fear of consequences going beyond probation or some namby-pamby plea agreement. I'm not advocating turning things into the Wild West where they would hang a man for stealing a horse but owners should be given a little latitude in protecting their property. The scumbag thieves would thing twice, maybe even 3 times, if there was a distinct possibility of a 9 MM hollow point headed in their direction at around 1150' per second. But as you said, (gasp) we can't have that!!

Awesome post ! My neighbor had a problem with a thief. he put out a push mower and a weed whacker for bait and waited. When the bum showed up he went outside with a 2" dowel rod and smashed his fingers with it. He told the scummer that he was dam good and lucky that he wasn't a Muslim because the raghead way of punishment for a common thieve is to cut a couple of fingers off as a visible warning to everyone else to beware of a stealer.

In regards to the stolen fire pit, I had it made for Lance Dehm's race party and the bidder/buyer donated to Jeff's party. If a new top is wanted, obviously I can get them in touch with the guys who made it.

Thanks Chris. It is/was our firepit. Same story we heard - it was made and someone (Boney??) bought it at Lances race party, and then donated it to Curls which is where we ultimately ended up with it.

The funniest part (if anything about this is humorous) is that the thieves ONLY stole the top lid part. The bottom of the fire pit was left alone. Beyond odd - but I'm guessing its hanging in someones garage at this point. Might not be next week, next month, or next year, but at some point, someone is going to be in a buddies garage and snap a picture and that picture is going to end up on facebook or twitter, and they're gonna get caught. My post on facebook was shared 420+ times by some pretty big names in the industry. Thanks everyone for keeping your eyes peeled. Its worth noting that the fire pit cover wasn't the only thing stolen that night - thieves also took a big air compressor from one of the FALS barns, as well as some chairs from another camper. Then for PDC, you have Bill's tool case get stolen. Pretty ignorant people to do it honestly. Little birdie may have made some noise about some people setting up cameras - so if the thieves are reading this - I'd recommend picking a different hobby. :-)
