    Iron-Man Modified Series Postponed to Monday September 4 Labor Day Shootout at Lake Cumberland Speedway

    BURNSIDE, KY – September 1, 2017 – The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series was set to make its first-ever appearance at Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY as part of the Harold Hardgrove Memorial on Saturday evening, but the remnants of Hurricane Harvey put down a large quantity of rain over the course of the day on Friday and Friday night forcing series and track officials to postpone racing action until Monday September 4.

    The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will now headline the Monday September 4 Labor Day Shootout at Lake Cumberland, being highlighted by a full program of practice, time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and a $1,000 to win/$100 to start main event. Super Late Models will also be in action on the Monday September 4 racing program, racing for $1,500 to win. Also on the Labor Day Shootout racing card on Monday September 4 will be KDRA Super Stocks racing for $500 to win and Stock Four Cylinders racing for $400 to win.

    The Labor Day Shootout event on Monday September 4 at Lake Cumberland Speedway will earlier gate and start times, with the pit area open at 2:00 p.m., with the general admission area opening at 3:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 6:00 p.m., followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing. There will be no increase in general admission ticket prices for this event, as adult general admission will be $15, while children age 12 and under will be admitted free. A pit pass will be $35.

    Of note, the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series event that scheduled to be a part of the Harold Hardgrove Memorial program originally set for Saturday September 2 has been postponed to Saturday September 30. The Iron-Man Late Models will race for $3,522 to win, while the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will also be in competition for $1,022 to win. Also in competition at the rescheduled Harold Hardgrove Memorial on Saturday September 30 will be the track’s KDRA Super Stock division racing for $1,022 to win and Stock Four Cylinders racing for $1,022 to win. The full event was moved to this date to accommodate drivers that had other obligations on Monday, along with the track wanting this special event to be on its regular race-night of Saturday and honor the memory of the late Harold Hardgrove.
