    Finn Watson Memorial Goes Next at Richmond (KY) Raceway on Saturday September 16

    Richmond, KY- September 6, 2017- Richmond Raceway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are set to return with racing action at the 3/10-mile semi-banked clay oval known as “The Beast of the East” on September 16 as the track will present the 3rd Annual Finn Watson Memorial, paying $2,500 to win for Sonic Late Models and $1,200 to win for Eagle Financial Services Open Wheel Modifieds, along with a full racing program for the AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks and Baker Iron and Metal Stock Four Cylinders.

    Of note, Richmond Raceway has been listed for sale, but the Yantz family will conclude the 2017 racing season with the events that have been posted on the 2017 racing schedule prior to the start of the current 2017 season.

    Richmond Raceway will present the 3rd Annual Finn Watson Memorial on Saturday September 16 with the Sonic Late Models racing for $2,500 to win in a 30 lap main event and Eagle Financial Services Open Wheel Modifieds racing for $1,200 to win in a 20 lap feature event. Also on the 3rd Annual Finn Watson Memorial racing program at Richmond Raceway on Saturday September 16 will be the track’s AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks racing for $750 to win and Baker Iron and Metal Stock Four Cylinders racing for $500 to win. All divisions, except for Sonic Late Models, will utilize the practice/time trial combo format to determine heat race starting positions, while Sonic Late Models will have a separate practice and time trial sessions. Richmond Raceway also uses transponder timing/scoring and the rental fee for a transponder is $10. RACEceivers are also mandatory and must be is use by drivers anytime they are in their cars out on the track. Also of note, drivers are encouraged to arrive early and need to be at the track no later than 5:30 p.m. if possible.

    Activities for the 3rd Annual Finn Watson Memorial on Saturday September 16 will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m., with the general admission area gates set to open at 4:30 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 5:45 p.m., with practice/time trial laps set to get underway at 6:15 p.m., and the first green flag to start the racing action will wave at 7:30 p.m. All times EDT. Ticket prices for the September 16 Finn Watson Memorial in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, with children ages 12 and under free. A pit pass will be $35, with children ages 6 to 12 costing $15, while children ages 5 and under are free.
