    Ponderosa Speedway Set to Present 27th Annual Fall Classic Friday October 13, Saturday October 14

    Junction City, KY- October 1, 2017- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jamie Stumph and co-owner Larry Redenius are set to present the 27th Annual Fall Classic presented by Caton Industrial Painting at the 3/8-mile D-shaped clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” on Friday October 13 and Saturday October 14, with an open practice on Thursday evening October 12.

    The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series will sanction the Super Late Model portion of the program, paying $15,000 to win. The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will sanction the Open Wheel Modified portion of the event, racing for $2,000 to win. The track’s Pro (Crate) Late Models will race for $2,000 to win, while the track’s KDRA Super Stocks will participate in the Bobby Carrier, Sr. Memorial as part of the event, also racing for $2,000 to win. Stock Four Cylinders will race for $1,200 to win and Mini-Cup/Cyclones will race for $300 to win.

    The track will host an open practice night on Thursday October 12 in preparation for the Fall Classic weekend. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m., with practice laps going from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Admission in the grandstand area will be FREE, while a pit pass will cost $20.

    On Friday October 13, Ponderosa Speedway will present the opening night of the 27th Annual Fall Classic, with a full program of practice, time trials, and qualifying heat race events for the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series Super Late Models, Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series Open Wheel Modifieds, Pro (Crate) Late Models, KDRA Super Stocks, Stock Four Cylinders, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones. All drivers need to be at the track, signed in, and ready to go by 7:00 p.m. if possible on Friday evening. Ponderosa Speedway does use transponder timing/scoring and transponder rental is available at the track. Also, RACEceivers are mandatory for use at the track in all divisions and all competitors are required to use one each time they are on the track.

    On Saturday October 14, Ponderosa Speedway will present the final night of the 27th Annual Fall Classic, with a short practice session for all division, followed by B-Mains in all divisions, with the evening concluding with the feature events. The Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series Super Late Models will race 75 laps for $15,000 to win in their main event, while the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modifieds will race 40 laps for $2,000 to win in the feature contest. The track’s Pro (Crate) Late Model division will compete for 40 laps for $2,000 to win, with the KDRA Super Stocks racing 40 laps for $2,000 to win in the Bobby Carrier, Sr. Memorial portion of the race program. The Stock Four Cylinders will race 25 laps for $1,200 to win and the Mini-Cup/Cyclones will compete for 12 laps for a $300 top prize.

    Ponderosa Speedway will also pay a $500 bonus to the winner of the Super Late Model main event if that driver has not won at the track during the 2016 and 2017 race seasons. In addition, the track will pay a $250 to the winner of the Pro (Crate) Late Model feature contest if that driver has not won at the track during the 2016 and 2017 race seasons. Also, all Pro (Crate) Late Model, KDRA Super Stock, and Stock Four Cylinder non-qualifiers will receive $25 tow money.

    The Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuel and Tennessee RV will sanction the Super Late Model portion of the racing program. The entry fee for Super Late Model competitors will be $125. The Super Late Model tire rule the event will be as follows: Hoosier 1350 or 1600 and American Racer 48 and 56. These are the only tire compounds that will be legal for all four tires on the race cars. All Super Late Model non-qualifiers will receive $100 tow money. Tire samples will be and if a competitor has a tire sample taken, their prize money will be held by the series until the tire sample clears the testing lab.

    The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will sanction the Open Wheel Modified portion of the racing program. The entry fee for Modified competitors will be $50. The Modified tire rule for the event will be as follows: Front- Medium, A40S, M-30s, A40, Hard, H40, & M-60 (siping allowed on front due to carry-over from 2016 season); Rear- Hoosier A40S, M-30S, A40, Hard, H40, M-60 and American Racer Hard and Extra Hard with no grooving allowed. The only tires that can be siped on the rear is the Hoosier M-60 and American Racer Extra Hard. All Modified non-qualifiers receive $25 tow money. Tire samples will be taken and if a competitor has a tire sample taken, their prize money will be held by the series until the tire sample clears the testing lab.

    Activities for the Friday October 13 portion of the 27th Annual Fall Classic presented by Caton Industrial Painting will see the pit area and the general admission area gates open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m., with practice/time trial laps set to begin at 7:20 p.m., followed immediately by green flag racing. Ticket prices for the Friday October 13 portion of the Fall Classic in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, with children age 12 and under free. A pit pass will be $35 for adults, with children ages 6 to 12 being $15, while children ages 5 and under are free.

    Activities for the Saturday October 14 portion of the 27th Annual Fall Classic presented by Caton Industrial Painting will see the pit area and the general admission area gates open at 3:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m., with practice set to begin at 7:00 p.m., followed immediately by green flag racing. Ticket prices for the Saturday October 14 portion of the Fall Classic in the general admission area will be $30 for adults, with children age 12 and under free. A pit pass will be $45 for adults, with children ages 6 to 12 being $15, while children ages 5 and under are free.

    Also, the track will offer a two-day adult general admission pass and a two-day adult pit pass for the weekend. A two-day general admission ticket for Friday October 13 and Saturday October 14 will be $45. A two-day pit pass for Friday October 13 and Saturday October 14 will be $75. In addition, there will be reserved seating available for the event while they last at a cost of $5 per seat each night to be paid at the track the night of the race.
