Is that area really that bad that tracks don't work dates around each other or work together at all?

Hagerstown is 40 miles from Winchester and 80 miles from port royal all run slm they don't work together used to go to Hagerstown all the time now I go to port royal better track only place you can go to watch a slm race and a 410 sprint car race on a regular saturday night the dirt capital of the world is no more

Sorry to hear they cancelled the race...was looking forward to it. Love going to big races in the fall but they have all but disappeared in md/pa/va area. I wish Hagerstown would just move back to Sunday nights and run Super Late Models and 410 Sprint Cars every week...the place would be packed!

    Default Shame

I was at Hagerstown once in the mid 90's for the Conococheague 100 STARS race. Just a real nice place. Honestly miss them days. Went with an Uncle I really liked who is loaded, and my cousin, who is my age. Then they got the big D. Crazy as you get older how things change. Used to spend summers in Pennsyltucky.

Sorry for going off track. Just Hagerstown brought back good, but sad memories with how things change. Classic case of no matter how much money he had, my aunt was still shady n crazy. He's the marriage side, she's the blood side.

again problem in this area is car count on a Friday or Saturday I can go to 10 different tracks within a 100 miles of how the crows fly nice tracks no cars some are making it most don't most people in the stands are 40 to 70 years old few kids.kids aren't car people any more that's why sport is slowly dying

It's funny, because when I read this I had to wonder what other track nearby was running. The only thing I could come up with is Port Royal which is running a WoO show, for sprints (no LM's). Is there another LM show in the area that weekend?

Like others, I have pretty much become a sprint car fan, traveling across the border to PA to enjoy good racing on much better tracks. It didn't use to be that way. That's sad.

allbrandauto brings up a very good point. But you DO see a younger crowd at all of the PA tracks. That's the thing that really stands out when you go. And they are loyal young fans. Not the case at Winchester/Hagerstown.

With the major car manufacturers switching to all electric in the next five years, it’s only going to get worse as the aftermarket prices climb.

https://www.wired.com/story/general-...-cars-plan-gm/ GM announced it is going all electric and Ford is going to be emphasizing electric vehicles. With China moving towards banning internal combustion engines, that puts a large pressure on the car makers because of how large that market is.

Jesus Christ Clayton, you really do just put on blinders and not pay attention to the World and technology. It's not some vast left wing conspiracy, it's called technology, move on, or get left behind.

This doesn't have anything to do with other shows being run. Winchester is done for the season, and Port Royal is running Modifieds with the World of Outlaws Sprints that night. They scheduled too big of a purse for what they thought they could pay and now they're cancelling the show because of that. Only other super late model show is way up at Clinton County, Pennsylvania that weekend

Attendance being mentioned first leads me to believe thats the main culprit and I can't argue that. A disappointment for sure but I like hearing they are looking at 2018. I went more this year than I have in the past 6 years combined and thought the direction the new/current staff has it going was pretty good overall.

Only shows I can think of that are even kinda close are the Stampede at Lernerville and a 5k unsanctioned show at Clinton County that weekend.

But most of the other classes at the Potomac show were also scheduled to run at Hagerstown.
