Please share with anyone you know bringing a camper for the weekend. We've been getting a lot of calls about camping... Last week a power pole got knocked down during Octoberfest that feeds all of the electrical hookups campers usually use in front of the grandstand. Those spots will not have electricity this weekend. We do have a lot of hookups on the far east end of the fairgrounds. But, we need to know in advance if you need hookups for an RV because we are going to park race rigs in this same area once we know how many spots we need to hold back for campers. This will be a fun area all weekend. We don't charge for hookups, but this weekend since we are going to have to put you in what is essentially the pit area, we will require you to buy at least 2 pit passes (one each night, or 2 if you are here for just one night.) Others can join you at your RV until about 6:00 on race nights without a pit pass. At that time we will clear those in this RV area without pit passes and ask them to go to the grandstand. We aren't going to stick you out in the middle of nowhere. We are going to surround the campers with race trailers so you can spend the weekend with racers. Once we know how many RV's we have over the next day or two, we are going to let racers with larger haulers reserve the additional spots with hookups and get those out of our normal pit area by offering plenty of space and electricity for pitting in the back 40. Racers, bring an outdoor FM radio and you can tune into the PA system in case you can't hear the speakers. We actually think that this could turn into a nice party and good time back there throughout the weekend. If you are bringing an RV and want hookups, PLEASE comment here or text Kenny by Thursday morning to reserve your spot. After that, all options with electricity will be gone. We are also looking for 2 paid helpers for Friday and Saturday night to patrol this back area and the gates for fence jumpers. You will not be able to see the race. Text Kenny if interested at the number above.

Attention race teams with tall haulers. The railroad bridge on the East end of Morton you pass under if you take the first Jacksonville exit when coming from the East was damaged recently and now has a clearance of 13ft 3in vs the 14ft 1in it was before. If you are close to this height, please continue around to one of the two exits further West to come to the race track. We just don't want some of you that are used to cruising right under the viaduct to suddenly lose the top of your trailer. Please share with those that might be affected. See you this weekend at Jacksonville Speedway http://www.myjournalcourier.com/news...on-on-overpass
