NeSmith Street Stocks To Battle For $5K-To-Win At Needmore Speedway

CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock National Championship is determined through a points system based on a driver’s best 14 finishes over a 27-week period. What if they all gathered for one big event to determine a World Champion? Well, that’s what is going to happen on November 17-19 at Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, GA with the $5,000-to-win World Championship Race.

The on track activities will begin on Friday night, November 17 with a Practice Session. The NeSmith Street Stocks will Qualify and compete in Heat Races on Saturday night, November 18. The B-Main Races and the $5,000-to-win 50-lap NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock World Championship Race will be held on Sunday night, November 19.

Among the top entries expected for the NeSmith Street Stock World Championship Race include the top ten drivers in the National point standings, including the 2017 National Champion Josh Tomlin of Hayti, MO. Also expected are Chad Winkles of Hartselle, AL, Rob Slott of New Waverly, TX, Lee Ray of Columbus, MS, Trevor Woodard of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Tim Dillon of Franklinton, LA, Steve Pate of Heflin, AL, Bryan Fortner of Millport, AL, Branden Harris of Molino, FL, and Jason Price of Pelham, AL.

Tomlin and Winkles tied in points with 700 point “Perfect Seasons.” But it was Tomlin being crowned the 2017 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock National Champion by winning the tie-breaker with more 50-point wins than Winkles. Tomlin turned in 24 wins during the 27-week season, while Winkles’ win total was 20 50-point victories.

There will be no points, and there will be no tie-breakers at the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock World Championship Race on November 17-19 at Needmore Speedway. It will be time to line up and see who will win the big trophy and the $5,000 top prize.
