    Default Steve francis

Heard at the world finals that HE is considering hanging it up ? Could be time for him since he has been pretty much irrelevant this season !

He hasn't ran well the last few seasons. Would hate to see him go. Steve was a bad dude in the late 90's, early and mid 00's. Hope he sticks around for a few more seasons.

Maybe needs to just drop back to regional stuff, if he doesn't hang it all up

It'd be a shame for him to not have a ride. He's a legend of the sport

He hasn’t been competitive on tour in years. That would get any driver down. I’d hate to see him hang it up, but I totally understand if he does. Hopefully he goes to a regional schedule and can find fun in the sport again.

Being from KY he could easily be at home every night and run regional shows and still run against quality competition

Maybe time for a simple chassis switch? But I agree he could run a pretty good regional schedule based on where he is located in KY

My personal opinion is that he screwed up this year going with capital cars on the Lucas Series. He didn't have any feedback or anyone to bounce anything off of.

I agree. I think he would have run a little better overall as a running buddy to Coconut on the WoO.

It’s never the drivers and always the brand of cars fault.

Steve Francis didn't forget how to drive. He's having a hard time keeping up with the technology of the sport.

I think he could have good success running a regional schedule. Would make more sense

DOD has an article about Steve and his lack of performance this year. 1) He lost a major sponsor just before the season kicked off. 2) His team is new, and he lacks a crew guy, and support with the new technology. 3) He made the switch to Capital cars this year and it seems they are a little behind the top two chassis builders. Clanton was struggling until he received a new car design in July or August which he went out and won a few races but still seemed to fade in later stages of the race. Steve had a few good heat race wins in the second half of the year, started up front in a few big races but went backwards later in the race as well. Rocket cars where bad fast all year with most of there drivers, they apparently found something, and what ever it is they have been able to keep it hush-hush. I hate to see stars like Steve go away, but how long do you continue when its a uphill battle of Money more than talent....

Steve hasn't been the same since the loss of his brother Chris.

As many provisionals as he used this season they should have renamed it the Francis Provisional.
