    Default Livingood Earns Pole For The NeSmith Street Stock World Championship Race

    NORMAN PARK, GA – Kyle Livingood of Bristol, GA will start the $5,000-to-win 50-lap NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock World Championship Race on Sunday afternoon from the pole position. Livingood drove the Real Tree Construction Special to Fast Time honors and then won the first of four ten-lap heat races on Saturday night at earn the coveted inside front row starting spot.

    Johnny Stokes of Columbus, MS will start on the outside of the front row for Sunday afternoon’s Big Show, as the second fastest qualifier won the second ten-lap heat race in the NeSmith Chevrolet, Buick, GMC Chevrolet powered by a $3,595 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

    The second row for the main event will have third heat race winner Michael Santangelo of Harahan, LA on the inside in the Harahan Body and Paint Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine, and fourth heat race winner Bryan Fortner of Millport, AL on the outside in the Race McMahon Chevrolet powered by a 602 Engine.

    The top four finishers in each heat race transferred into the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock World Championship Race. Drivers that finished fifth on back in their respective heat races will line up in one of two 12-lap B-Main Races scheduled for Sunday afternoon. The top four finishers in each B-Main race will fill in starting spots 17 through 24.

    Livingood picked up the $300 T&J Steel Fast Time Award with a lap around Needmore Speedway in 18.356 seconds. C&L Performance and Auto Repair presented Stokes with $200 for the Second Fast Time Award with a time of 18.386 seconds, and $100 to Justin McRee of Woodstock, AL for the Third Fastest Award in the Hebner Motorsports 602-powered Chevrolet with a lap at 18.461 seconds. Clay Caldwell of Arlington, TN traveled 582 miles to earn the $100 KDA Transport Long Haul Award.

    Joining Livingood in the “Sweet 16” out of the first heat race were David Showers of St. Augustine, FL, Brian Wooten, and Tyler Turvin of Cairo, GA, who finished second through fourth respectively. Following Stokes out of the second heat race into the Big Show in second through fourth respectively were Tuck Trentham of Deland, FL, Bud Chancey, and Marty Reid of Clover, SC.

    Second through fourth respectively behind Santangelo in the third heat race were McRee, Bubba Christian of Altoona, FL and Grady Christian of Altoona, FL. Filling out the Sweet 16 in the fourth heat race behind Fortner in second through fourth respectively were Brandon Elwood of Ocala, FL, Brian Grantham of Douglas, GA, and Brian Hansford of Altha, FL.
