RIP Turk Burkett

Turk Burkett passed away earlier this week at the age of 80. Per his obit, he started racing in 1953, then became one of PA's best drivers until his last race in 1983. He was one helluva driver. My wife loved him, I "hated" him, but only because he was always beating "my" driver. He hailed from Queen in Bedford County. That area was also the home of Larry Wright, Jerry Claar and other outstanding wheel men. Must've been something in the water in that part of the county.
