Iron-Man Late Model and Modified Series Announce Schedule Additions and Changes

SOMERSET, KY (December 17, 2017)—Officials with the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Late Model Championship Series presented by DirtonDirt.com and the Brucebilt Iron-Man Modified Series have announced several changes to the 2018 schedule.

There will be four changes to the Late Model Series schedule. A $4,000-to-win and $400-to-start event at Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Ky. has been added for Friday May 18th co-sanctioned by the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Late Model Series and the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series. A pair of $10,000-to-win races at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Ky. will be on the schedule for May 19th during the Second Annual Mike Roland Memorial (co-sanctioned again with the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series) and on August 18th during the 31st Annual Sunoco Race Fuels Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial.

The original May 19th date at Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Ky. has been shifted to Saturday June 30th paying $3,000-to-win for the Iron-Man Late Models and $1,000-to-win for the Iron-Man Modifieds.

The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series has added one race to the schedule for Friday May 11th at the Ray Cook-promoted Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, N.C. paying $1,553-to-win and $150-to-start. Tri-County is located in Western North Carolina (about one hour and a half from I-75 Raceway) and is one of the raciest tracks in the Southeast. This will now make a double-header with I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tenn. on Saturday May 12th. Several bonuses will be placed on this double-header weekend and will be released in the coming months.

The first event of the 2018 season less than two weeks away on Monday January 1, 2018 during the Eighth Annual Hangover race at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tenn. paying $4,000-to-win and $450-to-start for the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series plus $1,200-to-win and $125-to-start for the Brucebilt Iron-Man Modified Series.

One Super Late Model rule of note for the Hangover, the race will run under 2017 technical rules and the left-rear rule will be implemented at the second event after there is enough time to get the complete information out. That information will be released this week on the website and DirtonDirt.com. The Late Model tire rule for the Hangover race will be Hoosier 1350 and 1600 along with the American Racer 48 and 56.
