Default Superbowl of Dirt at GIS info

Its just a few days over a month out, yet the track still doesnt have the times/admission prices/info posted, and very very little info on their website. Went last year, and the racing was not great, but it was still nice to see that many of that caliber cars, spend the day on St. Simons Island where it was about 80 degrees, and at least get to see cars go in circles. Plus the tickets were SUPER affordable, I think $10 for Friday and $15 for Saturday. That also was appealing...

I was just wondering if anyone had heard if they were doing the same this year, or raising ticket prices? Just trying to make plans with possibly being off with work, and there is really no info to be found.

Going to GI this year is something I've struggled with ever since I left GI last year. To say the racing was not great is an understatement. The improvements they've made to the facilities are numerous, but the on track product leaves a lot to be desired. I may just leave a couple days later and head straight to East Bay.

They widen the turns about 15 ft more and had a decent race on back in October but still the track is to fast

Same old story, owner after owner.....but they don't listen!

They keep improving the facilities but not the main attraction.....the racetrack!

The width of the turns was not their problem when everyone runs the train tracks at the bottom.

Not me. The racing was terrible there last year. The drinking in the pits was out of control. The septic overflow all over the floor of the same bldg. that food was being prepared at was disgusting. The track is fast but it only has 1 lane to be fast on. The banking that is there in my opinion is what is causing the issue. Either flatten the corners or have progressive banking up the track. Keep the bottom a tad wetter and give the driver a choice on his set up. Up top, or down on the bottom were the moisture is. East Bay, Bubba's or Volusia ? Choices, Choices.

GIS is only 1.5 hrs from me, but I refuse to go.

Much better racing at Eastbay, BRP, and VSP!

I went last year and enjoyed the trip more than the racing. I plan to go again this year but it is very hard to make those plans when there is ZERO info from the facility itself.

    Agreed.........

I've seen some pretty good racing there and some not so great racing there.......the facility itself is stellar, they just don't seem to have a handle on how to get the track racy anymore.

I love the place, wish the racing would get a little better.......great memories built at that place over the years for me.
Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

Well said........several owners have inquired to the drivers, and they still didn't listen. Those sweeping corners will never lead to side by side racing!

The track needs to be a little bit smaller, the racing has down right sucked the last 5 years
